spoonie monster holiday mode

Today is recovery. Long week on pred (today is the last day), long day out yesterday (8 hours) avoiding the roofing noise. Started my morning trying to remember what I was going to do, and was like Oh, yeah, ~make coffee~. Cycled through that several times before coffee actually got made.

Stuff. Gonna meander through my day between keyboard and going back to bed. I feel like I'm in shock. Mostly just spoonie fatigue.

Scott got his flu shot while we were out yesterday. I hafta wait 9 more days till I see my dr because it'll be paid for, so I'm laying low and staying healthy till then. Loving these little pet skeletons from Walgreens, especially the cat. I'm not seeing them for online purchase, might be in store only.

Same item someone else demonstrates on youtube.

Wound up at Bass Pro for deer season prep, ran into this coolness. End of the Trail.

Got a text from Batman. Action figure artist at work.

We ran around doing errands most of the day so we wouldn't have to listen to the roofing noise, got home around 4ish, around dusk they packed up, plowed out our mailbox (sheered a 4x4 post set in cement right off), reinstalled it sufficiently (they seemed practiced with mailboxes), and took off. Now we're waiting on guttering. I got a picture of the quiet after they left.

@bonenado noticed they forgot their toilet paper.... +_+ *ew* I don't wanna know.

I guess I have a robe thing. I really like this one, too, worn by Wally the Caretaker in the new Minority Report series. I loved the show, loads of awesome very believable futuristic CGI, a lot of attention to detail in editing.

I'm in holiday mode. Just one big long smashy season now.

I think what strikes me most about this vid is how completely emotionless I feel listening to it. The song sounds angry or upsetting, but I think the reality is that there is a coldness behind all that, a place inside untouched by the wounding or rage. Eye of the storm, perhaps, simply observing. I've gone through so many awful things alienated from my own feelings that this piecing my own puzzle back together for Existential Aspie has been soul drenching. I confessed to my psychologist for the first time out loud to anyone EVER that I'm missing the end of fifth grade, and maybe several other childhood memories, which is a sickening realization for someone with a bit of an eidetic memory. I know exactly what kicked me out of my own head, those memories are permanently etched in lead crystal, so whoever I was finishing the fifth grade evidently didn't have to deal with it. It's taken me a long time to realize how experienced I am at breaking myself into pieces cutting feelings off, and that merging back over the years has been part of the confusion. I have very recently realized one of my experiences is an actual double memory, and I can't tell which one is right except to logically say that one of the memories shouldn't contain information I apparently am aware of if it never happened. This really has been the most interesting year. I'm too tired to feel theatrical so I'm sitting here staring like a rock, feeling kind of numby weird about the whole thing.

THE ROOF

Got the call last night, said they'd be out there 'bright and early'. Scott is off on Fridays unless overtime, so I'm going into town with him this morning, avoid a few hours of noise and disturbance.

Scott got his fasting glucose checkup couple days ago and utterly failed this time, finally shot way over the 126 cut off into the 130s. He doesn't allow me in the doctor with him, but I'll be able to freely mock before and after.

I've had to put up with his holier-than-thou my DNA trumps yours for years, so now I get to rub it in his face if he winds up on metformin and has to deal with *cough* side effects *cough*. (In 2011 I was pulled back off over severe side effects in which I nearly dehydrated over just a few days, so I just count carbs and test a lot.)

So if you don't see me on the twitters or facebook, I'm either not home or I can't get online.

I missed the Heroes Reborn premiere last night because resolving a couple of tech issues about something else, but ran into tidbits of live tweet and can't wait to see it later today. I know Zach won't be back, but you know I'm a Sylar fan. This is the roof irl. Yeah, Sylar is the roof. We've been with this roof a long time. Definitely breaking up this time.

well, pink ~that~

Kinda liking this pred burst. (Another latex reaction.) Slept 4 hours the first night and then was up for 20 hours, slept 6 hours last night, now I'm bouncing around cleaning my whole house. Didn't realize how bad my ears were, I can hear again. The hard fibro shoulder neck stuff softened up. (Pred isn't supposed to 'work' on fibro, so I might've been in a low grade autoimmune flare.) My blood pressure dropped like a rock (122/75), so I'll have to monitor and space out my BP med.

This week has been a little too exciting, 22nd was my sploit's anniversary and the latex reaction, 23rd was end of the world and a great visit with psyche guy, today is maybe roofing crew and super zippy deep cleaning and clearing off my hard drive, tomorrow is my dad's birthday and more maybe more roofing noise. Got boxes mailed off, all the groceries stocked up again, want to spend the weekend catching up the spaceship reallocations and getting back on my writing track. I'm starting to write in spirals again because I've been on the road so much this month, so more scattering to gather and process.

My checkout lady at Walmart the other day was a very pretty Daniel Tosh lookalike. She could've been his sister. I can remember Daniel's face pretty good, since I've been watching his show for years. It was really hard not to walk around straightening up the waiting room at the clinic the other day. One of my many jobs at the hospital was stepping around sleeping families straightening up waiting rooms in the middle of the night, but I'm sure that would've creeped a few people out, lol. One woman left a crumpled kleenex in her chair to mark her place while she went to the bathroom, crazy genius idea I guess, but the other chairs around hers were empty, so when she came back to her spot and picked up her kleenex and sat down I had to look away so I wouldn't laugh. That was not a relaxed woman. She also sat the way my mom had trained me to sit, with my toes pointing to lift my thighs up a little so I could hold them together and look more ladylike. I went through all of middle and high school sitting like that, years of church, and there is no way I'm going through my old age sitting tense like that. I'm too tired. Boink a world that thinks I look disgusting slouched around in jeans. Take some chill pillz.

This pred is giving me some extra attitude today, isn't it? I've been extra smartassy with @bonenado, too. Everything is cracking me up, I'm in a really super good mood, probably because I feel better.

NSFW, so mute this if you're at work.

future end date reset

I sent this card to my dad for his birthday. >=D It'll probably inspire a lengthy phone convo. Everything he knows about the internet comes from what he hears on his local TV and radio (Sirius), so we've had some wild Q&As about facebook (everyone automatically gets one at birth), why I won't blow up other people's timelines with his truth declarations about the rapture (that's called trolling, Dad), reasons why I don't try to hack into govt sites to see what's really going on (it sounds so easy, everyone else seems to be doing it), and sometimes we wind down with mundane things like why getting a debit card is no more evil than writing a check. If he ever does cave and get one, I will laugh so hard if his number winds up with a 666 in it, he'll just die.

By the way, in case anyone missed it, the world didn't end yesterday, evil dark matter full of Satan and his minions weren't ushered through the large hadron collider at CERN (seriously, that was a huge thing), and another end of the world / rapture date has gone by. I've noticed it has kinda ramped up to 2 or 3 times a year now since the Mayan calendar thing in 2012. I mean, we are this close, people. Keep watching those Jewish holidays, because nervous Christians, UFOlogists (yes, that's actually a real word), survivalists, and anyone caught up in their event horizons have all started syncing on their end dates like a big psychological roller coaster. Wonder how many disappointed people woke up this morning and went Ug, we're still here. Don't worry, they'll get all ramped up and excited again, you never know, this could be the year. We jUst GoT tHe dATe wrOnG.

Large Hadron Collider at Cern, Send back our Socks!

Speaking of end dates, I found some expired yogurt at the very bottom back of the fridge a few days ago, so I've been working on that all week. Kinda like aged cheese, a little whangier but really good.

So this happened. It's my second major sox splurge of the season, but I couldn't help it. These are the softest sox I've ever touched. I couldn't stop holding them.

And wouldn't you know, the second I'm assessed out of physical therapy early because my progress has been fabtastic, the roofing supplies show up. Seriously. I spent three weeks away from the house nearly every single day, the night before my first whole week of days in a row not having to go anywhere, boom, here comes the noise. Last night was a surprise, just showed up, no phone call, dropped supper to go move cars and finished watching the Blindspot premier that we DVRd, which was pretty cool, but with mundo roof supply stacking noise.

Oh man, can't wait to tell Dad about my 'theory' (he likes to talk about theories) about the latest trend in new scifi being mind wipe shows (Dark Matter and Blindspot) where people wake up not remembering who they are but find out they're specially trained killers. Ever since I was in kindergarten my dad has been saying psychology is government control, and we all know about the Illuminati, and my own theory (lol) is that we are being brain trained to prep us for weird things coming. You know, like how the whole world blacked out for a couple of minutes in Flashfoward. Since he doesn't watch any of this stuff (no satellite, plus scifi is of the devil), I'm the one who gets to tell him what's going on out there. Nearly everything scifi out there is about economy and govt fail or control, alien invasion, worldwide viral outbreaks and epidemics, and how people survive this stuff, as if we are being conditioned to start thinking it through NOW before it actually happens. This is our early warning system. The right people will survive, the ones who can think things through, plan ahead, coordinate regroup, etc. I think it bothers my family that I'm not concerned about CERN. Get it? ConCERNed. Too early? Hang on, I need more coffee.

I just realized that I've never tagged any of my Pinky posts with survivalists, rapture, end of the world, government, mind control, programming, or similar, but I have used UFOs and CERN. Maybe it's an unconscious you guys don't need to monitor me thing. Years ago I blogged about some of the stuff my dad said about Obama getting into office and got hit pretty hard by Virginia, I'm sure my blog was used for training purposes at Langley. I think I was the first person in AOL groups to pop up and say The Lone Gunmen's first ep Pilot was about diverting a passenger plane from plowing into the World Trade Center just months before it really happened. That show got pulled so fast...

I've mentioned my dad growing up in the middle of wheat fields with no outside contact and has been correctly predicting current events in govt his whole life. Tell me how that just happens. This is a fun search. psychological splintering in politics and religion You know, in case you're having a bad day because you were all excited and the world didn't end and now you're all bummed out.

I just know I'm gonna be on the winning team. Some of you know what that means. Most of you have no clue and think it's all crazy talk. Blue pill. Go back to sleep. It's just a bunch of silly but very successful marketing. It's all the rage in fame now. It's lucrative. Some day the science will hone it down to brain chips that can reorganize brain wave patterns to help people with depression, instead of keeping people medicated, just touch base with a handler, tweak some code, feel much better, and we'll all be on board with it.

Anyway, if you don't understand the GaGa mythos (wild leap here, if you don't follow, that's ok), it's a creation story, a rebirth, a signal to buyers that it works. Social psychology and marketing. The new fashion, and everybody wants in. The symbolism is exquisite. I'm only saying this because the world hasn't ended yet. If the mythos is real, the splintering has begun, and I think the point being made is that there will be no stopping it. Masons and Moors are fine tuning their thousand year competition for dominance.

Since we've not gotten any heads up phone calls, I have no idea if the roofing crew will be out this morning. There's a good chance my internet will get glitchy or stop for awhile if they do, so thank goodness I picked up that flash drive, I'll just spend the day moving stuff off my hard drive. And since it might get noisy later, I'll celebrate the world not ending with my Lady GaGa playlist, which is rife with mysterious imagery. For some reason. *cough*popculturearmy*cough*

In case you still keep missing it, much of the GaGa imagery invokes the feeling that Masons are letting the Vatican know they are taking over the Catholics. Considering how many of you are hooked on bloody vampire zombie death shows, I totally see this happening. Remember, religious and political splintering. It's lucrative. It's all the rage and you're already on board. When I see a bible belt of Southern Baptists mimicking dark Catholacism imagery in fashion and taste, I know it was a successful sale.

brain pointing, or FOCUS

Ok, mind blown at 4 this morning, moving on with my day. Batman is getting his tonsils out in about an hour, I start a new round of physical therapy in 3 hours. Finally signed a roofing contract last night, sounds like it's going to be wonderfully awesomely smooth and easy having this team after two decades of struggling with fixing botched home repairs. I'm not against anyone, but there's a reason people say never hire friends and family.

Time to get my brain in. FOCUS! Yeah, no, not like this... Little too focused there. Don't wanna stand in my shower staring like that.

I've never seen this version, but @bonenado has. He's seen ALL THE SHERLOCK HOLMES. I like this song.

it's always something

We'll be getting caught in the rain tonight with our roof down.

Was beautiful and sunny yesterday after work, hardly a breeze, catching up on The Last Ship during supper, sudden BIG noise, last time I heard that was a microburst one winter. Out of the blue, there it went, part of the roofing sliding right off without any provocation whatsoever.

We've had this roof fixed several times through twenty years of severe weather. The only parts that have stayed intact are the parts Scott has done himself.

Serious distraction time. Hang on, lemme just grab the warning....

Hmm, no warning about the nudity. Or the language. Oh, well, carry on.

Well, they got being caught in the rain without protection right... Ok, and the crying right. I cried a couple of times since April. Actually, I was looking for an SNL vid of Gilda Radner saying "It's always something" and youtube suggested this one to me (yes, naked Benedict). I know you don't believe me. Here's Gilda. Love her. This is why I don't sweat it. I've watched people I love go through so much worse.

@bonenado says if we get insurance for a whole new roof (unlikely) we'll hafta take down the internet antenna (omg, praying we don't do the whole roof) and he's too hacked off to feel sorry for me at all, so I may be camping out around Springfield if that happens. That's right, I let him do all the worrying about more water coming in through the attic and ruining the drywall in the kitchen. I'm not the one who just had to build this spectacularly complicated roof. Everyone who's ever been up there for satellite or internet or just plain reroofing remembers our roof. We're the people with that roof.

From my pinterest- "Scott has absolutely no fear, no little red flags frantically waving in his brain screaming, "Hey, we're gonna die!" This goes up 4 stories to the roof. I had to go in, my nerves were shot watching him." And this was when he was younger and more limber.

Got some fancy tarp up, now we look like a secret military compound. Ok, I'm lying. This just in, and it was starting to sprinkle while I was out there, so it's all in the nick of time. We even had some tar in the basement. Love how my phone lightened up the sky, you can't see the ominous cloud cover.

I love this parody. If it's hard to understand (she's French), here are the words. She's awesome, does lots of other vids of all kinds, has two youtube channels.
