flunking the draft

Mock if you must, but I love live drafting with @bonenado. It's hilarious and I do stuff just to fall over laughing while he pulls his hair out. My report card this year is rock bottom of the entire league.

I'll share my fave lines from the report.

With Some Early Gambles, 790 Should Call Chip Kelly for Trade Advice
Draft Summary
Despite selecting in the top half of the first round (sixth overall), 790 might as well have been blindly heaving darts at the draft board to decide their picks... 790 should look into the joys of scrapbooking, or bird-watching, or just anything that isn't fantasy football.

Meanwhile-

Yeah, not a clue. These are all new visitors coming in. That blog was 3 years old last month, has only 90 published posts, and only 4 this year.

Labor Day grillfest this year is ramping up. Twink has been on a Daniel fast for the last 3 weeks and is ready for some MEAT. Sunday we'll be firing up the grill and loading it with filet mignon, BBQ chicken and pork, and possibly shrimp. I figure may as well get it all cooked up and then not have to cook for a few days.

Bunny's arm cast came off yesterday and ceremoniously went into the trash. Nothing like starting school in a cast.

Between Scott's work finally selling, my kiddo and her Batman being in the middle of Houston (now harboring storm fugitives), and Bunny flipping our schedules with pre-K, basically our lives lately... I've got a full agenda today, so see ya.

in the Pinky cave on Labor Day weekend

I need to get back into something ~FUN~, last couple of posts have been a bit glum, way too thinky, right?

I'M EXCITED FOR THE NEW MoC SERVER COMING SOON. I've been talking strategy with anyone who'll listen, watching other people place TNT and blow up the beautiful towns they made on the old server (it's been pretty hilarious), going back through chat logs at the very beginning when we were so nooby and realizing I'm becoming a truly competitive force. I'm betting I can tunnel through 20,000 blocks in 2 weeks flat, and if I go diagonally across the grid it'll actually be double that by the time I hit 20,000 because both x and z coordinate travel, plus I'll be having to get around lava. I did close to 8,000 blocks in one week last May, plus loads of tunneling since, so I'm pretty sure I can pull this off and still pop out onto the surface for food and wood and brief recon. I have several big construction goals, which will give me stuff to focus on when I kamikaze on bad days. Give me a year and see what happens, right? I'm also wanting to tunnel clear out to near 90,000, which will be map edge. I also have yet to learn the nether, can you believe it? I've never conquered the nether.

I've been experimenting while I wait for the old server to be wiped. I've been sinking gravel into ocean to kill the water blocks, then digging down into the gravel to clear space, pretty sure I can get the hang of creating underwater cities if I wanted to. I can always resurface with dirt for a tropical garden or even completely submerge.

That little white block in the water is a jellyfish.

That's about 15 blocks down, easily 3 stories.

Imagine lining a bunker a couple blocks up from the bottom of a deep ocean floor with obsidian, no one would ever find it, and it would be just about impossible to grief. I've also noticed that hostile mobs never seem to spawn where I'm working in ocean biome, which is a big plus for getting a lot of stuff done.

Scott and I ran into Springfield yesterday morning, got his hunting tags and some jeans at Bass Pro, got his flu shot at Walgreens, I loaded up on more spirals and pens, naturally. Talked time organization and financial strategies for the kids and the holiday season. Got some pix. If you guys have ever driven past or been in a Bass Pro, this is the original one that started it all, and it's ~huge~. I'll link this first pic to their website, but there's no compensation here, just making it easier for you to check it out.

I know, right?

I could lay inside one of those chandeliers.

Thought of all my rowdy friends.

3D depiction of what it looks like underwater.

Zoomed in a little. Love all those cute little feet.

Can't help thinking of all the crappy Syfy movies when I see this, lol.

I wrote this next bit several days ago and didn't know where to put it, so I guess I'll just leave it here.

There's a sort of haunting loneliness in getting to know your stats so well that IPs and particular browser-operating system combos feel like old friends. I've been able to see when some of you upgrade. (Half of you just froze and then scuttled off like rabbits.) (Srsly, can't see your names and addresses. Calm down.) I only thought of this because I got nostalgic about the old days this last week when site trackers were simpler and IPs weren't pinging off 5 different things and there was no such thing as keywords, and all I needed to see was entry point to know if it was coming in from a bookmark.

Things have changed so much that I lost track of a particular check-in through the years, but I think I've found him again. That's right, took 2 years on Pinky blog trackers to untangle this lurker again once I started noticing, who I'm pretty sure knows the Lexx fandom better than any of us know it, even though he barely interacted. You know, one of the more serious collectors with the kind of money I only dream of. Finally nailed down a ping that's been going on right under my nose this whole time, and it had nothing to do with the regular stat readout. If I were to say out loud what caught my attention, every lurker in the land would just die, because it was that obvious, but let me repeat, it wasn't easy to put this trail together. At any rate, hello super lurker, really surprised to see you on Pinky blog but hey, thanx for the #s stacking up. I admire your sheer obsession, and I can't help wondering what your private collection looks like, which I imagine must include other fandoms.

Today. Click it to follow me on twitter.

I need to run away and do stuffs. Might have a minecraft date, might have a Bunny bomb, tending food and dodging all the incoming. Have a great weekend, guys.

pinky after Labor Day- I'm glad you came

One of my bleary-eyed mornings staring wtf-ly at my phone and finally dawning on me to actually plug my pinky blog address into twitter search, ohhhhh.... Splains a lot about spurtly incoming from twitter referral at a really odd time of day.

this is a real thing
click to go check it out

This is a real question. Can you wear a pink tie after Labor Day? I was going to do a search on 'pink is the new' and ran into this, which seems familiar, I think I've found this before.

Pink is the new everything if you put that in search. Is pink the new banoffee? I found out YES, it IS. (What the boink is banoffee???)

I got a few pix for @bonenado fans. Among our busy weekend was getting ready for bow season. Bow-nado, lol. (Original name because genealogy enthusiast.) In the first one you can see the target.

This bow came from Bass Pro Shops.

It's got sights you can line up like a gun, might have to look hard to see the glowing dots inside the circle.

Random Bunny pix.

She MAKES him sit in that chair, cracks me up.

We're learning to trace hands.

Batman got bited on the eye.

Chillin, being the Bat. Hanging upside down sideways.

That moment when you realize you got yourself stuck.

Since this post is seriously lacking a selfie, here you go, another bathroom selfie from Walmart. Why? Because I was being ridiculous. Actually, I realized how much I really love that shirt after I had a sudden what if I stain it up flash of horror, so I grabbed a pic. I go months in between selfie pix. This one goes out special to Steve. Go follow him. He's nice and has super cool links to neato stuff.

And now a brief complaint about the neighbor.

This is real. Nearly every single day all. summer. long. We get the leftovers he can't bear to throw out. After all the weed killers, insecticides, and whatever else he drenches his tiny acreage with, you think we're eating his stuff? Especially the giant woody stuff he doesn't want? He's from the older gen that can't waste food but still considers it a gift to leave leftovers on our deck, so we hafta take care of his twisted up guilt-ridden being neighborly conscience for him and sack those up, haul them to the back deck, and gleefully fling them across the yard trying to hit the trees, watching them explode and smash all over, and the deer love it. He doesn't feed deer. He moved all the way out to Mirkwood and hates deer. I know! Weird, right?

Need to plug something into my bwains and keep moving. Sorry, yes, it's Sherlock again, but I like this song. Wait, here you go. Pick your fandom. All the same song. You're welcome.

Gold stars all over this one. FAVE.

trash in space

I'm learning so much about proxies. Using the right IP geolocator breaks down how they bounce around, statcounter practically shows me how one is set up on someone's computer. For instance, one person coming in from out of the country through a search engine using a mobile app on a computer broke down into three 'hits' at the same time, all coming through one state in the U.S. where the app pings. but through a city on the opposite coast where 'out of towners' ping with their alt language google searches being translated. I can also tell it's a chrome app. It's cool seeing when the product was purchased, updated, and upgraded. Not this blog. Stats on a different blog. I guess fraud and hackers have gotten so bad that paid counters can help decipher what's going on. Don't worry, I still get really invisible lurkers who know the ways of the tango force.

I've about figured out this little euphoria is a side effect of needle day. I must have really pumped out the endorphins or something. A true euphoria would have me skipping meals and loving the world, but this is more like coasting on a narcotic and I'm still eating. I'd also love to be able to sleep, have been up since 2:30 and finally feeling a little cranky in every spot that got zapped and poked, like all those spots are taking it really personally, so I think I'm in a big chemical brain dump dealing with it, just super spacey. @bonenado's all like what are we grilling tomorrow and I'm all like huuuu (drool) like he just asked me what planet we're on and he's all like it's Labor Day and I'm all like *facepalm* we have no food at all... I mean, unless we open more tuna, and I think I've already mentioned on twitter how old that's getting.

So he went shopping and just pulled back in, and I'm pretty sure I'll be useless tomorrow no matter what happens. Well, apparently I can TYPE. I know it's still summer outside, but I want a heating pad body wrap, a codeine java smoothie, and some more music in my head. It's 90 degrees out and I'm cuddled up in a sweater and sipping hot milk and listening to the same song over and over in my headphones. I need to find a better song, this one is too melancholy. Youtube is suggesting this one. I've never heard it before, hang on.

I think the funky color is perfect. Checking out the user. Subscribing. If you're sick of Sherlock, she made a Khirk, hang on. Ok, close your eyes, it's naughty, not just a insinuation tease. She hooked me with the pinkybluepurpley stuff. And I just discovered during a spellcheck that purpley is a thing.

Oh, here we go....

I'm a little disappointed in what they call goth, but hey, PURPLE.

All that purpley talk got me lost. Where were we?

Pinky blog played a trick on me last spring and busted me open like a pinata, and then I pretty much spent 5 months watching all that crazy candy come out of my head with not much way to stop it. Thank goodness it went in slo-mo, but this wandering soul morphing into weird love letter stuff is probably embarrassing a handful of people I know half to death. Here, click this and take your mind off.

Star Trek Re-Cap #5 - Spock, Messiah!
Well, most of my feels have been processed and are basically out there now, but there's something else that I don't think I've said yet anywhere that I know of. I went all that way to meet one person. Just one. Yes, I stood in line for autographs, but then I mailed them all to other countries. I didn't drive all the way there to meet actors and get autographs. (Gasps of shock and outrage from jealous fans just fogged up my screen.) I regret that I didn't share at the time how much it meant to me to be there, just sitting and talking. I just wanted to hang out. Just be there for real. For once the tables were turned. After years of people going out of their way to meet me or find me and me not understanding, I wanted to meet her.

I don't know how to fix what happened. All I know how to do is blog. And now that the pinata is in pieces all around me after holding all that stuff back for so long, and all my vital organs are dissected and laid neatly out on the table, it's time to GET BACK TO WORK! >=l FOCUS!!!

Revenge. Evil villain. The Plan.

~Coffee~.

"In every game there must be a winner and a loser. In this game, you will be the loser."

Remember what I said about losing.

Star Trek Recap #6 - Perry's Planet
Anyway, everthang I ever learned about space luv is from these book reviews. Yep, unofficial unpermissioned noncanon that actually made it into the publishing world, and I found one in a bookstore in Branson, MO, so I know they're for realz.

Star Trek Re-Cap #7 - Killing Time
And I figure if they can do it, I can too. Ok, no, I don't mean that.

My head is too tangled up right now to tell if any of this makes any sense at all. I've tried explaining, but I don't think anyone understands what I'm talking about. Except maybe she got it before I was aware that's what I was doing. I just don't know.
