crawling back out of 2016 like a mega creeper blast

Thinking of all the time reset memes for 2016, like we need someone to push the Omega 13 button, or where is Barry and that flashpoint when you need it, or if only Marty hadn't boinked up the old west, or...
New Year's Resolutions to date-
  • no new tags
  • don't buy myself any more ice cream
I nearly failed on that last one, but it's ok, I'm going to remake that failed cheesecake.

LAST YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS- You could click that, or I could paste it over.

I'm in a pretty deep funk, trying to hold my stuff together through holidays and another winter, got a pain level going and family drama and my self-incrimination is eating away at me again, like it does this time every year but hardly anybody knows about it because I really don't share it.

Every day I tell myself I can do this.

Every day I remember that I believe in what I'm doing.

Every day, no matter how bad I hurt or how sad I feel or how hard stuff seems, I remember that I'm back out public to be good for people.

And above all, I don't waste time feeling guilty over people who bring their problems on themselves. I'm sorry they're stuck like that, but dragging me down into it isn't going to get the bigger work done. I own that I'm a sucker, and I need to get off this wrong way track I've veered off on and GET BACK TO WORK.

I've decided I'm not going to talk to any more new strays, I'm going to stop responding to vague 'hows it going' chatter from people who can't be bothered to click a link, and I'm going to have a really good 20th anniversary year Lexxing with the fans, which means I'll have to reassess my social media priorities and stick to my gangs.

I think I just made my New Year's resolutions.

Of course, who could foresee the way the 20th Lexxversary would go down with all the MIAs and a number of other people hitting walls. If you think about it though, what a Lexxy way to go. 2016 monumentally sucked in so many ways for the world in general, so I'm just going to move past it and get my butt back in some kind of gear.

I say that, and in the back of my mind I'm dealing with stuff I'm not sharing, but it's nothing terrible or anything, just my regular personal rebounding off walls kind of thing.

I'm on a self imposed 30-day challenge with a very particular list that I've been trying to get to for months and for some reason looks especially daunting for no reason I can fathom, and true to my holiday ways, I'm in my typical aspienado meltdown/shutdown cycle. BUT THIS YEAR I AM WISER. We all saw what happened last year on twitter. That's not going to happen this year. Pond of Death was an emergency holding pattern until a good friend rescued me off the medias and diverted me into minecraft, which I feel has been one of the most life changing moves this spoonie aspie has ever made, so I'm going to be ok.

Still serious about the arms, though. Living through some suckage.

All these things being non poignantly restated (yes, non poignantly is two words, I looked it up), just a reminder that if I'm not talking to you on the medias (the ones who need to know these things are the ones who never click, alas), I'm saving your life. Poking me to be chatty doesn't score points with me. I actually laughed last night when a particular follower who deliberately poked and cajoled me to FOLLOW BACK and then ignored me from then on tweeted "I've quit tweeting at people who never engage unless I initiate it and likely you're muted or dropped." Srsly, right? I nearly muted, unfriended, and blocked on the spot just to get even for initially being poked for attention, but I am trying to be more human on the medias and let things slide by. Aspienado doesn't need to be stomping around like a Godzilla movie when someone irks my special sore spot. All I hafta do is patiently wait for that account to unfollow me first or go dormant long enough to assume he might not be coming back. Y'all know I'm good for it. Y'all saw me learning that 75% of the accounts I unfollowed were long abandoned. Y'all know that numbers mean nothing to me. Just clutter in the ol' closet.

Note driving my point home- PEOPLE mean stuff to me. Not numbers. Not abandoned accounts. PEOPLE. A handful of you may have noticed that some of my friends on the medias are pretty volatile and highly opinionated, and even though they may seem acutely abrasive, I like them. They are real people and talk to me. Also please note they don't *ahem* tag me a lot. REAL FRIENDS DON'T TAG YOU A MILLION TIMES A DAY. Not to hurt any feelings, and I do like being included in my gangs, but I still sometimes get upwards of several thousand tags a day in convos I'm not even part of, and I still read every single one even if you don't see me hitting *likelikelike*. While a lot of you out there doing the tagging get lost in the convos and miss half the things, I actually see #ALLTHETHINGS because I'm a readaholic speedster with a real compulsion problem, so all y'alls making your OCD jokes, live in my world sometime.

Ok, going off the rails... See, this is what holidays do to me. If I were a Time Lord, I'd make Missy look sweet.

I'm a whole frickin year behind in Doctor Who. THAT'S how messed up 2016 has been for me. Until I get caught up on Doctor Who, I will always feel like something's off. I may need to get on that this winter.

full blast

click for more cool wallpapers
I dreamed last night that you could choose to allow your overall web activity to be incorporated into an exciting new 'site map' of all your presence, kind of like a map, called your landscape. It was a new form of monetizing that everyone could easily use. Say you shopped JCPenney and several other places online, they would become little markers in your activity terrain and if your followers ping over to shopping from your markers, you get coupons and little kickbacks for future purchases. It looked like a real map that you could set up to look like fantasy, western, pirate, etc, and every day your map would look like you traveled some more.

There are people out there making six figures to sit around tables thinking up stuff like that. And then there's me seeing it all in my head like it already exists somewhere. I wish I could press my head to the screen and file share.

Day 9. +_+ Wow, I'm so done with germs this year.

I'm not sure what's happening, but even all through this head cold from hell I've been able to stay focused and keep working.

I also went into deep recon. I'm not sure how, but lights are coming on like crazy now, and I'm looking back and looking around into the distance and connecting dots I should have picked up on years ago. All I can say is I'm sorry I was so super aspie, I know someone tried, and I remember it. All of it.

And maybe now I understand why the Rosette Nebula was such an important image for me. Slowly all my stars light up and continue making the whole picture.

In the meantime.

all our memories, our thoughts preserved

click for Ten Fictional Libraries I Wish Were Real

You know that library show in Doctor Who where you first meet River Song and learn about CAL and the Vashta Nerada? It's a library as big as a planet and contains all the collected knowledge in the universe for its time, which at that time is the 51st century.

I was one of those kids in school that read just about every single library book the schools had available. Prolific doesn't begin to describe how much material I've read in my life. When I saw The Library (that's the wiki page), I knew if that really existed and I could ever go there, I'd never leave. I would either lose myself in that library or become one of the people working there. I'm sure it would have reading rooms full of poof chairs and recliners and coffee shops every few sections.

My own local library is also called, simply, The Library. (They sell their own coffee, guys. And that site doesn't link you to the awesome coffee shop they have.) I've paid an annual out of county fee for years just to be able to check things out. (It's been holding at $65 last few years.) I've been able to get books shipped in to me that are so rare that one of them had only two copies existing in libraries nationwide. I've also been able to get my library to invest in a few books that don't show up on Amazon or in bookstores because they are alt-published and directly marketed from author sites, which means (when I'm successful in my proposals) I save upwards of $60+ every time I can talk my library into owning it for the public, as opposed to me owning it only for myself and reading it only once or twice.

Things are changing, though. Over the years, books that don't see a lot of action get purged out through fundraiser sales, which is sad because some of the coolest books I've ever read have been lost to rummage sales and recycling. A few old books are making comebacks online as retro keepsakes and collectibles, but so many are just gone now, out of print, and extremely difficult to find, especially in libaries. Imagine that.

I've written here and there about my library experiences, like the time I held one of Michio Kaku's books hostage and the library kept sending me threatening letters, but normally the library is pure magic for me. Much of my Lexx blogging content has been written out at a big table in that library.

Way off the subject, I accidentally just discovered that GrandFortuna's League of 20,000 Planets | Lexx holds third rank for 'xanga mobile' keyword, according to website-box.net, and I only found that because I was actually looking for 'bluejacky xanga bio' and I got there from this on the front page of the google search.

But it's actually not completely off the subject because, before xanga razed all the blogs over to new servers, we had bio pages, and I had listed off fave books, fave movies, etc., and either the bios never made the move or they haven't figured out how to hook them up in the wordpress style cage they locked us all into, and apparently I didn't copy and save it anywhere before it went MIA. And then right after I found that, I also discovered that a particular post in my old bluejacky blog is somehow link-jacked to an erotica network site outside the States that rotates the pages that load up so you never get the same page twice. Fine, whatever does it for you. Send traffic back, thanks.

But back to where I was going with this library thing. It hit me this week that I'll never read all the books. I used to go to bookstores and browse titles in the science section just to see who had published what new stuff, but now it's going so fast on the webs that I hafta catch summary blurbs on the fly and still can't keep up with all the new science, even in cosmology. The last few years have been pretty mind blowing, and the only way I can keep up reading all that now is to walk away from all my projects. The only way I keep up with TV any more is through wikis and recaps.

I'm having weird feelings about the idea that I'll never go back to reading all the things I wanted to keep up with. Researchers nowadays have turned into recappers, basically high speed glancers who summarize and translate techie talk to TV show viewers who don't care whether 120 year old real science is still being obliterated and yet craving new stories at any cost. All that old, dusty knowledge and all the new empty heads bobbing around the planet going along their busy days- even if new knowledge is scifi come true, it's like we're all becoming disenchanted with the overwhelming onslaught of new entertainment and the marketing frenzy around related collectible merch. I keep seeing people turning back to the nostalgia of old shows and crappy science because it was magical back then. Scifi is losing its magic. It's become mundane.

I've been standing at an apex where I know I have to choose. I once said I can't be both a leader and a follower.

You’re either a leader or a suck up, I can’t be both.

And I can't help noticing when an international recapping service follows my lead on something. I'm here to inspire, guys. Some people can see where I'm going with a world fandom and that I'll be dragging everyone I can in my wake. The more of us who figure out how to fly in formation, the bigger our fleet will be. These aren't just TV shows to me. They're IDEAS. I can't sit around talking about ideas without applying them and using them and making them real. If the stories inspire us, that means we get off our butts and GET TO WORK! FOCUS!!!

By the way, if y'all aren't hanging out with international fans and actually using translation services, you need to be. Your readership with your fanbases are important. Those are real people out there. Well, at least I know mine are because I'm all over controlling the pingbacks and spambots and stuff.

There was a time when building a library of information and knowledge was up to other people, usually people who get paid. Now it's all of us. We are the ones building wikis and fansites and entertainment information libraries and film studies because we love it. Most of my friends who endeavor to build on the internet are all doing it out of pocket. We are all adding to a world library.

My job is to add as much as I can while I can to the Lexx Memory Catacombs.

#IWriteAboutItBecause

btw, loving John Rhys-Davies in The Shannara Chronicles
Last night was pretty exciting. I was having a buncha big thoughts in the shower and wound up thinking about how not even the Doctor could get the Sliders back home, like you do, and emerged to @bonenado feeling upset about not being able to find his giant stomper hunting boots that he'd been rummaging around in the basement for and suddenly switching gears wanting to know if I'd want to watch The Blacklist, and I gave up, all my cool thoughts went down another drain again, held frustration at bay hoping I'd be able to pick them back up later, because I had a neat idea I was going someplace with. And now #IWriteAboutItBecause I'm hoping I can trigger back to where I laid down those thoughts.

First order of business was to squelch the ADHD and redirect, so I led the way back down into the basement and patiently refocused gerbil brain back into more logical questioning over and over, do you remember the last time you actually had the boots, did they disappear before Thanksgiving because remember Twink was moving and there's all this 'new' stuff down here now, the mini trampoline kept coming up so obviously there was a reason the boots had to move off the trampoline (I conceded his logic for them being on it in the first place was actually sound to his way of thinking), and over a little time putting a picture back together from probably about 8 weeks ago, he suddenly went straight to them buried out of sight between and under a bunch of furniture and sacks and boxes covering a kids' plastic picnic table, where they were sitting on the seat off the floor. (He's watched every version of Sherlock ever made, I don't get how this process of rebuilding a crime scene hasn't sunk in yet.) (Maybe that's why I was always bored with all the other Sherlock versions and he's still glued to Elementary.) (I really hate Elementary, I have to leave the room.)

See, you can't get basement floor odor on the soles of hunting boots by setting them on the floor. It's ok if they sit on everything else... We've had lengthy discussions through the years about the mysteries of odors and hunting superstitions, so yay, we found the boots and went back upstairs to watch The Blacklist. I really don't think Elizabeth Keene should have been able to recover that quickly from a nitrogen-heavy suffocation that blacked her out, but I digress and the show must go on.

And then Scott dreamed about drugs and the FBI swarming his work last night while I dreamed about alt worlds where I made other really cool stuff on the webs that felt so real that I had a hard time waking back up to this world and going, 'oh'. Not as cool here as the last me I visited.

So here I am, coffee in the brain, and still trying to remember that really cool thing I was thinking last night in the shower that I couldn't wait to get out and write down before I forgot it and then got brain bombed. The danger of getting back into the shower and trying to recreate the scene is having all new cool thoughts crowding out the old ones that slipped away, so best just stay out of the shower for awhile and see if some utter peace and quiet will bring it back, now that @bonenado has left for work.

Mondays are like this. Every Monday. Every. Monday. My brain and I getting reacquainted, chatting about this and that over coffee. Starting all over again with making a Plan. Scott is still driving my car, but I hope to be getting my keycodes to the new lappy guy by Wednesday and picking new lappy up by the end of the week. Might be coming out of the depression dip soon, kinda seeing shafts of light getting into the darker corners again. Arms hurt like heck all night because I held my phone watching the live tweet feed while the Vikings teetered on the edge of ridiculous fail, so I've gotta stay away from my phone today and let my arms rest again. My hands finally stopped hurting somewhere in the night. You know, I don't say much (I really don't), but when a person can't even hold a spoon to stir something, yeah. You should see me putting jeans on. Ok, maybe you shouldn't. I have this trick where I hook my thumbs in the belt loops to pull them up. I've already been through a couple of years where I couldn't tie shoes or even put on my own socks, so I've got all these little tricks I'm going back to.

I do know that idea had something to do with 'all of time and space' being just a tiny blip in the reality of our own universe amid a consortium of multiverses (a bunch of a bunch, I just wrote), and how one would go about conveying that idea in a story. So I started crossing Doctor Who and Sliders and had this brilliant epiphany of phraseology (that's a real word, guys), and *boop* it's gone.

Really wish someone would do a fanvid of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to Lady GaGa's Edge of Glory. If I had the time to sit and do stuff like that I'd have whole novels on the market by now. I need staff to do frivolous things for me.

Nope, still haven't recovered that thought. Maybe later today. In the meantime, making my way through another Monday to some kind of breakfast.

braincation

my livingroom is about to explode according to this logic
Here's the thing. I'm still at least 5 episodes behind on Doctor Who, I wanna marathon everything Sherlock before the holiday special happens in 4 days, and I really really wanna see my fave Christmas-time movie.

click for the saddest meme collection ever made
What is my fave Christmas-time movie, you ask. Only the baddest assest movie EVER.

When asked what the all-time best ever Christmas movie is, my response exactly. #bumpit, Dwight.

Also, I feel like I'm getting a cold, my data plan is maxed out 10 days before rollover, my internet is super glitchy from this neverending rain, and lappy keeps abruptly shutting down anyway before it melts.

SO- I'm going to camp out on my couch the rest of the week and glue my eyes to my TV and lose myself in awesome. I can't say when I'll wobble back into your lives, maybe peek out once a day, maybe for New Year's Eve, maybe for the Sherlock special, no idea, but I need down time like you wouldn't believe. I've also got some planny thinky stuff to do. I hope your holiday weeks are going as smoothly as possible, and please don't do anything stupid.

crabapple futures and Benoffee

And then I facepalmed because it hit me that just taking a blocking cookie off doesn't change a thing if I don't reset the counter code...

Anyhoo, time for end of year assessment. My investor asked me yesterday if I've set a new sales projection, and after that we went through a quick review of where I'm at and where I want to be while we drove around a Walmart parking lot looking for an open space. He said I've been a crabapple the last couple of days, and I agreed that I've gone off course ever since the Pond of Death and I need to review my mission statement (ha, only people with the password can see that, nyahnyah) and set up a new projection timeline.

One of the biggies in the convo was how my original motivation to create this job has flipped. When I first came up with the idea to go public and studied how to create a launch platform, it was out of desperation, a means of distraction to keep me from drowning in depression. Some of my best writing has come out of the sheer need for escape during high pressure social situations, like holidays. That didn't happen this year because I didn't go through my usual aspienado shutdowns and survival maneuvers into FOCUS! and instead actually participated nearly 100% throughout the holidays. I could moan about this being a writing problem, or I could feel elated that I've broken through a very serious social deficit problem I've cringed through for many years. In short, this job I've created, whether it reaches financial success or not, has successfully helped me integrate my whole self into demanding social situations that normally have me going through avoidance behaviors, yay!!! So right away, that's a big ol' plus on the assessment agenda.

So now, one of my goal revamps will include a new (and presumably more emotionally healthy) writing plan. This is no longer a job of desperation, but of joy. I really like that realization, although sadly for friends, this means less time playing on social medias and more time doing actual work. Some of you, like me, nearly got stuck wondering where to put commas in that last sentence. When in doubt, throw commas out. That's my motto. The most properly written way would have gone- "although, sadly, for friends, this means..." Riiiiight.

Hang on, need a break here. Yes, this song. Not just for Benedict.

You know when people ask who you'd want to play yourself in a movie? I always say Austin Powers.

Ok, back to the assessment. Over this last year I've injected $1300+ into my ongoing projects and my tech exec has invested $2200+ on equipment upgrades, so that's at least $3500 just this year on a goal I set 3 years ago. By now we're probably at least $8000 in. This year I tied my properties into google analytics and discovered my web rankings are getting pretty sweet, besides my content being picked up by other curators. I'm still struggling with EU cookie compliance on my older blogs that are still in server move recovery, but nearly everything is verified for ownership, and the next step, once I reach sales, will be promotion. Every bit of this is organically done, not one shred of it has been done for me by a hired service or paid staff. Three years ago I was sharing the challenges I had starting this up, but with hard work and diligence, my overall health continues to improve and I'm managing to keep up with the daily disciplines of writing and checking on my social medias.

I've set and readjusted several goals, keeping in mind that family and 'real life' take priority over work, even though work is the distraction that soothes the continual problems I have with ASD complicating several triggers with anxiety and depression, and over this last year I realized that powering through isn't the answer when one is writing delicate material. I'm learning to oscillate in and out of a more singular focus on one blog in favor of the compulsive scattering across the broken slew of blog personalities I used for several years sorting myself out. I feel I've made significant personal growth with reintegrating #allmystuffs and focusing more easily on holistic thinking. I could have finished this first project on the side, disregarding what this could mean for a better product, but I'm glad I didn't. I feel slowing down and taking more time will mean a better quality finished product. I decided from the beginning that returns on this first project isn't the goal so much as the quality, which will hopefully boost returns on subsequent products.

By the way, I've had a few private offers to help get this done, and while I really do appreciate the offers, I just can't imagine using fundraising investments to do this. Giving me money won't make this move any faster, point blank. Some people can hire housekeepers and babysitters and office staff, but they miss everything about the writing process doing that. The whole point to live blogging through my process is to share my personal challenges and personal growth, my path through the jungle, as it were. Some people might be able to discipline themselves into regular work hours and so many words a day, but I have days where I easily do 5000+ and even 10,000 words, just not all on one project. And then I have days where I barely get a blog post done over several hours with lots of help from a Bunny. I missed so much of my kids on real jobs for many years, like games and dances and even my youngest graduating, so no, there's no way I'm going to miss a single second of Bunny.

Lotta big words. Let's take another break. This is me working on my first book irl.

There are a few changes I hope to make over this next year. It's obviously a huge year for Lexx fans, and I need to put at least as many hours into writing for Lexxperience that I do for my Walking Dead live tweet reviews. There's no Lexxcuse for slacking there when I've put so much free time into other movie and TV show reviews and discussions. Part of writing for a worldwide fandom means paying more attention to the fans involved in the fandom, so I'll need to figure out how to reallocate some more of my time for personal interaction in fan groups.

Enough of the big stuff. Where am I at on the particulars? Numbers are fun!

Top post ever on Lexxperience currently at 491 views is Heresy in the First Degree- Thodin of the Ostral-B Pair, currently 14,371 total overall over its 16 month history.

Top post ever here on Pinky blog currently at 377 views is rats, after all that I forgot to title it, currently 39,997 total overall over its 16 month history.

Top post ever on Spaz currently at 278 views is things that have dramatically impacted my depression and anxiety levels, currently 7791 total overall over its nearly 5 year history.

Top post ever on Surveypalooza at 248 views is Future Survey, currently 4552 total overall over its 15 month history.

Pinky's Sox has only 6 posts and 2106 total views over 12 months.

Blogger makes it pretty easy to weed out spam and bots and watch generalized stats.

I've come to intensely dislike WordPress and haven't spent very much time on those blogs, despite owning two domains over there and using gravatar to help verify other sites connected to WordPress. I should probably download the kit and do it correctly... We'll see what happens over this next year. Who knows, I might go into a brain spasmy fit and suddenly obsess over it. I've seen some other very nice WordPress sites, but I fail to be jealous and inspired to do the same. If Blogger ever streamlines more toward WordPress style, I will go into a severe depression and weep.

We must take another break and cheer me up.

I kind of let Klout slide earlier in the year until I discovered YouTube playlist hits jacks it back up, so I'm holding pretty steady again, which is preferable since I'm listed in some serious twitter lists regarding higher klout scores. I think it's kind of silly, but some jobs actually hire and fire over social media scores, believe it or not, so I may as well keep it up there. This is from today.

I'm not going to be redundant and go over all the other stats observations I've made through the year. I'd love to hand out banoffee to everyone who survived my Lady Gaga and Benedict Cumberbatch obsessions this year- wait- oopsie. Was about to link you guys to 'pink banoffee', but apparently it's a new color in a risque lingerie line now. I can, however, hook you up with Benoffee. You're welcome. Oh, and it clicks out to a real blog post about banoffee.

But I think the most fun I've had this year (yes, even more fun than stats) is all the smashing on youtube. It's not enough making fanvids and shipper vids any more, now it's about taking the DJ pop and rap smashes and smashing several fandoms into those smashes. I've found hundreds of awesome vids this year, but if I were to boil one favorite down, I'd pick this one because the simplicity is so elegant and the irony is delightfully exquisite.

exiting with no shred of dignity and every intention of ripping straight into the new year

Continued from exit Christmas left.

srsly, the search link clicks back to that whole thing
have fun
And now I'm loading all the GWT data back in. Remember when I disabled that awhile back because they had a hack and my numbers skewed up to Saturn alla sudden? This is me and statcounter fussing over GWT irl with my brain half off because I can't wake up from the first real nap I've had all week. It's not helping that my internet keeps timing out every 30 seconds.

Everything in me is screaming GET TO WORK! Not one thing in me is going >=l FOCUS!!! I may just be useless the rest of the day while @bonenado is outside doing all the chores he's been wanting to get done for a month. He came through earlier, I was barely interactive enough to handle yes and no responses, although I did get a pan of BBQ ribs into a slow oven. Not sure I should even look at twitter or facebook the rest of the day.

So youtube it is! Let's see, something that'll jerk my mind into some kind of gear without turning me into #smashallthethings. I'm in a delicate state, my brain is tender from all that holiday stuff.

Man, fans crack me up.

I know, we're getting excited, aren't we? SHERLOCK SPECIAL COUNTDOWN!!!!!

Yes, yes, we KNOW, there's a Doctor Who special TONIGHT. Don't worry, I'M ON IT. Doubt I tweet with it, though.

Ok, back to the fan stuff. They know that trailers alone aren't sustenance enough for this length of wait.

I'm just going to leave this here. You know I'll be buried in youtube and munchies off and on until Doctor Who comes on.

eem, utils, various portals through untime and nonspace

I can't believe that page
is still up
This is a real thing- Total number of Websites

Once in awhile I hit burnout (don't laugh) and suddenly everything bores me silly. Yes, it's true, I actually stop keyboarding and stare at walls. If it gets really bad, I have a secret way to snap out of it. Ok, it's no secret that I stalk people occasionally, but I never really talk about this guy. He's impressively further along on the whole burnout path than I could ever hope to be.

I like visiting his old writing collection once in awhile. My fave is Where do you go when you die? I also trust him if the grid goes down. Massive Power Outage

Some of you are going "Thank goodness she's not expounding about her headache" and others are going "So what's the dirt from the appointment with the psychologist?"

We're at about an 8, and I was able to condense a thought into a verbalized, "Mom pushed me away from what was hurting her", aka the box she stayed trapped in. It's deep, when you know what the box is.

Then I dropped off an official letter from the state capitol with my tax guy and came straight home. I'd say I miss Gregory, but I don't.

~hours later~

Countdown to Turkey Day. Might have Bunny next Wednesday. Tomorrow is a 2-list day, then hopefully home all weekend, PT and last minute stuff Monday, then home the rest of the week. Soooo looking forward to that.

I'm about to admit something. I am weeks behind on Doctor Who. WEEKS. Maybe even MONTHS by now.

I've been a little distracted.

But believe me, it's killing me, I think about Missy a LOT.

I need to stop this and go to bed, my utils are crashing, and I have a big day with a therapist tomorrow.

imagine if Davros had insect essence (or, if anyone tells me to breathe I will block the f#@k out of you)

@ 7ish p.m. Saturday night

Had a little trubba concentrating and pulling my bwains together today, so I kinda messed around in GWT again, can't seem to import my keyword/click report in for my Yablo blog, even though I google verified it as a property last year and the crawlers seem well acquainted with it. I mean, it mostly just sits there, rarely blog over there.

Pinky blog gets GWT just fine because blogger is auto-verified, but even though it gets hit like 10,000 times more than Yablo, the crawl doesn't look that much more impressive for the huge load of stuff I have over here.

So I thought maybe if I add Yablo to my Pinky google analytics property batch and get a tracking ID, maybe that'll help, but it's not (I forgot WP isn't keen on the script code and I'd hafta insert it manually into the source code, bleah), and then I was all Oh, yeah, I've got GWT on my dotcom (which is also wordpress), how did I do that? Well, I think I just waited 24 hours and it kicked in. But I keep getting this message for Yablo- "Google Webmaster Tools data: The user xxxx no longer has access to your Google Webmaster Tools account. We are unable to download new keyword data. Please try to repeat the instructions from step 1."

Um. Yeah. Repeat ad nauseam.

Just realized Doctor Who started 15 minutes ago. Ta.

Was anyone else keenly disappointed that Clara-Dalek wasn't a permanent loop back around to Eleven? I got this excited. I'm serious. I have no problem whatsoever admitting that my evil villain inner soul got seriously turned on thinking this is the moment she winds up being buried alive with the daleks and forgets where she is.

In case I seriously wrecked your day and you need to get away from me and drown in Cumberbabble, here's an hour of him blabbing away. Embedding disabled by request.

@ 5 a.m. Sunday morning

And now a tutorial on why one must never EVER click 'move to folder' again, EVER.

Boing awake at 3:15, make coffee, internet is down (right before everyone wakes up to a big football day), I'm all Heyyyy, this will be a great time to keep cleaning off my hard drive! And I plug my cute little 32 gig Toshiba USB 2.0 stick in (the package smartly states "Inventor of FLASH MEMORY"), and go to town for about 45 minutes moving 197 files (800+ MB) onto this cute little stick while I listen to that long Ben compilation I linked up there yesterday.

I've done this many times on other sticks, never had a single problem.

This time there was a problem.

Always check your files, kids. ALWAYS LOOK AT WHAT YOU JUST DID. I got distracted from @bonenado pacing around waking up (earlier than he gets up on work days, so annoying) and didn't go through my usual OCD checklist, went ahead and pulled the stick and did a restart, plugged back in and wtf-ness popped up in the form of this

so I did this

and when I opened the files up I got this.

The whole stick is blank except for 2 folder names.

When I first started salvage 3 years ago, I was super suspicious of tech fail all. the. time. because I've been through so much fail. I used to 'copy to folder' and then go back and laboriously check everything and plug the stick in and out making sure I HAD what I copied, then go back again and laboriously delete the original files, and then and ONLY THEN would I empty my recycle bin.

A few months ago I grew impatient and started moving straight to folder and it always worked just fine and cut out all the extra work, so I stopped checking. And today I'm vowing to go back to my old ways. I had collected months of stuff that is already being yanked off the internet, and apparently just spaced them right off the ship in one fell swoop in 45 minutes flat. Some of it is, in fact, irreplaceable, and the rest will take at least a solid week's worth of concentrated effort to track down and copy again if I stop absolutely everything and do nothing else. So I just added another ongoing background project to my ever-growing list of multitasking.

What can you do, right. I got a shower and thought about what kind of breakfast to make if Bunny shows up this morning.

So anyway, that title up there, if anybody wants to tag me on twitter with 'breathe' just to annoy me, I'll consider that a hug and reply with a #PinkyBlock 'thank you' and this little guy.

click to see where I came from

Well, that's IF I get internet back. Thursday @bonenado was all like you don't have to set your whole team now, you have till Sunday, because I always get my guys all set. After years of watching him super sweat it juggling last minute player switches on several fantasy teams right up to kickoff (which gets unbelievably tense when internet goes glitchy, which happens a lot in Mirkwood) (because he thinks it's sexy-sneaky to foil his opponents' assumptions about how he's playing his teams), I developed a better habit of just getting it all set right away and not worrying the rest of the weekend. We start every year out like this, he has to run over to my laptop and breathe down my neck with his eyeballs eating my screen up over my shoulder and telling me what to do until I yell at him

and it usually turns out I do a pretty decent job of managing my ONE team all by myself. I will bring this up even with my last breath- that one year I actually dropped from first place to nearly last over Thanksgiving weekend because he got into my team behind my back and rearranged all my players, trades and everything, thinking he was smarter than me. At first I assumed sabotage (he gets maniacally obsessed over fantasy football, so it's not that much of a stretch), but I found out later we were playing for money and he just never told me so he could keep mine if I won. Which makes the sabotage bomb even stupider, right? You can imagine me never letting him live that one down. So his obsession over my team every year is something I love to mock him with, sometimes put players in that freak him out just to set him off, and it bugs the crap outa him that I don't care if I lose doing it. Anyway, so this weekend is a double boof, first the stupid flash drive, and now repercussions of listening to his advice again about waiting to set my team if internet doesn't come back up because I can't get the app on my phone because #epicphonefail.

I'm actually really calm right now. I could almost go back to bed. Except I'm doing dishes and thinking about testing this stick again with some copying to see whether it's really a bad stick that I'll have to take back.

So the new roof is mostly done, just waiting on the guttering now. Scott's only complaint, which is an understandably pointedly strong one, is that they used our deer feeding area as a toilet, and one even left a t-shirt behind down there, so months of patient trust training is obliterated. They're probably eaten alive with chiggers now from going down there instead of taking real breaks and running to the gas station up the road, so I imagine they're paying for it.

@ 7:30 a.m.

Still no internet. Sounds like Bunny will be here soon. Wearing my cool new Nikes for home workouts. Home shoes never go outside so the soles stay cleaner.

Typical day. Way too much going on, mobile office tucked away in 4D space so keyboard death by liquids won't be a thing (wouldn't that be a magical emphasis on my day), MOAR COFFEE on, second breakfast coming up for gurlz, who will be here any minute, and then massive busy Bunny house party while I focus on the ongoing party of Holiday Slide. Need to get the next batch of cards ready to mail out, finalize a holiday grocery list for ALL THE THINGS, start sketching out a house plan kind of list so I can start prepping for a tree going up. Again, as usual, after all the deep cleaning I did on the prep this last week, I'm really glad I didn't do the floors yet, maybe get to them during the week. I was going to wash the rugs and everything but the roofers showed up, so there it went. Today will be messes galore, so no worries. And then there's the stuff collecting into a big pile behind my chair in the kitchen to hand off to a sister in a couple of days since I couldn't get down for Dad's birthday and bring it all myself. This house is like one long super slo-mo neverending excavation project. Sometimes I think back on the washer-sized box full of barbie stuff we had when the girls were younger and laugh a little. Who'da ever thunk I'd wish I had it all back? My mind reels around how more packratty we maybe should've been. No wonder my next door neighbor has another house on the other side of the block that he uses for storage. Must be nice.

The key thing to remember with my house is that we have no hallways. Everything opens right up on the center. There's no escape, no getting away, no reprieve, no personal space. It's like living in a meerkat den. Correction. Meerkat spaceship.

I'm obviously twiddling my thumbs till they get here. I should go kick back for a few precious minutes.

@ 9 a.m.

Back online, yay! Three of my guys are hurt already (ankle, groin, concussion), got my deck shuffled, and the gang just trundled out the door to Silver Dollar City.

Anyway, I was going to come back and say this morning that I'm #TeamDavros because he is so delightfully spectacularly evil, and I think he and Missy should hook up. Is anybody shipping those two yet? This pic clicks to that episode tweet feed.

Discussion- is Davros as evil as Mantrid? (Doctor Who vs Lexx) Them's fightin words. I bet Missy is... In fact, I'm counting on it.

I've got to wander off and soak in some of this peaceful bliss stuff before I try to do anything else.

pinky after Labor Day- I'm glad you came

One of my bleary-eyed mornings staring wtf-ly at my phone and finally dawning on me to actually plug my pinky blog address into twitter search, ohhhhh.... Splains a lot about spurtly incoming from twitter referral at a really odd time of day.

this is a real thing
click to go check it out

This is a real question. Can you wear a pink tie after Labor Day? I was going to do a search on 'pink is the new' and ran into this, which seems familiar, I think I've found this before.

Pink is the new everything if you put that in search. Is pink the new banoffee? I found out YES, it IS. (What the boink is banoffee???)

I got a few pix for @bonenado fans. Among our busy weekend was getting ready for bow season. Bow-nado, lol. (Original name because genealogy enthusiast.) In the first one you can see the target.

This bow came from Bass Pro Shops.

It's got sights you can line up like a gun, might have to look hard to see the glowing dots inside the circle.

Random Bunny pix.

She MAKES him sit in that chair, cracks me up.

We're learning to trace hands.

Batman got bited on the eye.

Chillin, being the Bat. Hanging upside down sideways.

That moment when you realize you got yourself stuck.

Since this post is seriously lacking a selfie, here you go, another bathroom selfie from Walmart. Why? Because I was being ridiculous. Actually, I realized how much I really love that shirt after I had a sudden what if I stain it up flash of horror, so I grabbed a pic. I go months in between selfie pix. This one goes out special to Steve. Go follow him. He's nice and has super cool links to neato stuff.

And now a brief complaint about the neighbor.

This is real. Nearly every single day all. summer. long. We get the leftovers he can't bear to throw out. After all the weed killers, insecticides, and whatever else he drenches his tiny acreage with, you think we're eating his stuff? Especially the giant woody stuff he doesn't want? He's from the older gen that can't waste food but still considers it a gift to leave leftovers on our deck, so we hafta take care of his twisted up guilt-ridden being neighborly conscience for him and sack those up, haul them to the back deck, and gleefully fling them across the yard trying to hit the trees, watching them explode and smash all over, and the deer love it. He doesn't feed deer. He moved all the way out to Mirkwood and hates deer. I know! Weird, right?

Need to plug something into my bwains and keep moving. Sorry, yes, it's Sherlock again, but I like this song. Wait, here you go. Pick your fandom. All the same song. You're welcome.

Gold stars all over this one. FAVE.

places I can hide

For about a week my top post was depression, suicide, and Pinky's revenge. I actually never intended to become a depression blogger (I can't believe how many posts I've written on it), but I don't know how else to hug people through my screen. I know it's really hard out there.

My superpowers are growing.

That's why my dance moves are getting so awesome.

I hope you guys can imagine how this tweet looks in a #pinky hashtag feed, which is mostly porn. Yes, I take my puns very seriously. No, actually, I thought it would be easier to look for one of my #pinky tweets on the hashtag feed and about fell outa my chair, so I facepalmed and looked through my own photo/vid tweet feed instead. #bencongruity

I wonder how many views came in from the porn feed, though, because these two posts were hot on the heels of the suicide/depression post and suddenly flew right by it. Hope I didn't disappoint anyone. No one is yelling Take it off in comments, so that's good. Have to wonder if some of the regulars on that feed have become solid readers, though, since I've been making #pinky posts for a year and a half now.

Stuff from the last few days-

BATS! You remember I warned about rabies, right? That's a real thing. I see way too many people holding bats on the twitters. Never brush off a little bat bite like no big deal. It's a horrible death to go through.

This guy. As long as my finger and took a bit of leverage with a little stick to make him let go and fly away.

This last week has been so rough that I found myself plowing through sock bins Monday after my neuro date. I'm a back to school junkie, I try really hard to hold back until what I find is more rescuing the last of the cool stuff than filling the basket up with ALL THE THINGS.

Other back to school included updating my bugout bag (super cheap shark backpack from Walmart) and epi purse. Click for ---> way more pink camo stuff.

Between a register coupon, sale price, and using some of the points I earned, I got TWO free pints of Haagen-Dazs ice cream at Walgreens yesterday.

Going over the James River bridge in Ozark yesterday. Yep, same one that flooded higher than a car last month. And speaking of more rain, storms ripped through again this week, and now we've got a big leak in the kitchen because the tarred tarp bolted down with boards couldn't stop the 60+ mph winds. Big tree was blown over next door, they have roof damage. Our new roof can't come fast enough. I've never seen such a wet August, and then suddenly dropping 30 degrees yesterday and waking up in the 50s this morning. O_O We're all just really really confused- the trees, the bugs, the lawns...

I WANT THIS BATHROBE. So did this person. If I went to all that trouble, I'd be more into the velvet, brocades, and piping details. You know how Mrs. Hudson jokes about Sherlock's blog post on a comparison of textile fiber tensile strengths and origins? There really are people out there who do this. <--- But I don't care what anyone says about the incongruity of this bathrobe in the Shire, the real tragedy was not mass producing it for fans. $Kaching$. Anyway, one of my sisters is a quilter, I come from a whole family line of expert seamstresses and quilters (Mennonites), I know a lot about fabrics and marketing thanks to a 5-year retail stint, and I'm shocked and appalled that as much work as was put into this bit of costuming, it wasn't merched to the fans, who would easily have paid the high dollar ticket just to have it. However, thanks to a pinterest link, I've also found TARDIS toile. And who could resist the Sherlock collectionYou're welcome.

The nacho experiments are going well. I have discovered cooking up an entire package of Italian brats or a pound of taco meat ahead and freezing portioned cooked crumbles into little ziplocks is so easy to get out and thaw later and top onto corn chips with shredded cheeses out of a bag. @bonenado and I can split this and call it a light supper.

Speaking of @bonenado, he's been teaching Bunny how to hang out like old guys. Probably talking about the neighbor.

Sorry the posts lately have been so lengthy. I seem to be in a regroup kind of mind, like how you zoom around, stall out and coast, spring forth and boing around, spaz out again, get cranky and shake yourself by the collar, and suddenly realize OH, I think I've got a virus, on top of all the antihistamines super squelching all the ragweed on top of teetering back and forth on the brink of spiky pain monster on top of life throwing an entire roof replacement on top of football season and new shows starting back up on top of the boss maybe selling the business just before we get the roof loan on top of MOAR STORM DAMAGE. This is way too big for Benedict. I need The Doctor.
