property values in my neighborhood

Pic clicks to site

Major recon and salvage started on that this last weekend. That forum was rescued by fans when the original Lexx.com sold off. I sat in on that auction, it sold for $8000 something. This is what that domain is worth now, according to GoDaddy. Which is sad because the pointer is being completely wasted.

That got me curious about my own dotcoms. What is Lexxperience worth? Well, it depends on who you check with. GoDaddy says this.

Valuemydomain begs to differ.

Statchest says this. Yowza. I guess it depends on what part of the world you're in or something.

So I got to wondering about Pinky blog. Valuemydomain says it's not worth very much.

Statchest has a little more faith in me.

GoDaddy says they're nuts. Pinky blog is cool, like the Fonz.

So what about my Janika dotcom? It just sits there, right. I mean, I never do anything with it, it's just a place holder for later, blahblah. *FALLS OUT OF CHAIR* I had popped over to freevaluator to see how that looks. Surely that can't be right.

Valuemydomain said that was a pile of crap but I still kinda stared at that again.

And then statchest just blew me completely away. HOW???

GoDaddy told me to calm back down, lol.

So depending on where you check, Lexxperience isn't doing too bad, and JanikaBanks is kinda hot. I wanted to keep checking but most of those sites stop you at 3 and then require either a login or buying premium to see more. Guess I'd better get on the new analytics property settings. Pretty sure setting all those as verified properties with google IDs is what made them worth anything, and I'm guessing WordPress is what made Janika more valuable. Funny that Blogger isn't more valuable... lol. I should move all my Lexx stuff to WordPress just in case something really big changes.

Always something. I really do need office staff.

Quietly not pointing straight out that I'm worth more than Lexx....

remembering my blogwhore roots

My klout score literally nosedived on the 22nd and is now the lowest it's been in ages. I know exactly why, too. I say that like it was huge, basically went from 60 to 58 after months of coasting. It was almost like I found my true negative factor, plugged it in and repelled people, and it all pointed to youtube. My Webmii score reflected that, too, although it's really interesting that the score goes up if my web presence search parameters are international, and then it has nothing to do with klout's final say. But basically, I diverted from my usual entertainment distractions, and I'll be honest, I didn't like myself doing that, either.

I hadn't checked impressions from keywords in awhile. I've been wondering what is the weirdest search parameters my blog has been lumped into, so I'm throwing darts at 141 pages of keyword searches and stopped in my tracks at something in Russian that translates to "riyet duck buy in kiev". Really, guys? Oh, yeah, my about page has a Darkwing Duck motif. But then another Russian search phrase translated to "amazing lightness", so I guess I have seriously breached Google around the globe. I seem to get a lot of Korean search referrals outside of my GWT list, and at least 7 different languages are represented in my top ten all time visitors. Top referring site is google.com, top referring URL is facebook.com. Basically, google pushes me out there, and facebook pulls people inward. I get instant hits from at least 4 different countries within seconds of sharing links to facebook, and another 2-3 countries within 5 minutes of sharing to twitter, depending on how I set up the tweet with hashtags and graphics cards. Internal tags and keywords do that rest. Statcounter says Pinky blog has been visited by 91 countries. I never dreamed this one would pull in traffic at all. I mean, it's not crazy or anything, but it's interesting watching where those hits come from around the world, because it's a difficult and therefore meaningful search.

But apparently more importantly, I come up on Google's 4th page for "allergic to ragweed", which is pretty outstanding, given how vague that is, 5th page for "desperate popstars", which is actually a little scary, and page ONE for "flowers for algernon book", like literally no one else talks about it or something, I dunno. Actually, I come up on page one for nearly 2 1/2 statcounter pages of google search phrases. "blue halloween" is my golden ticket with the most impressions (hundreds), "dr. evil leo" a close second, then "spock handshake", "rick lagina images", and "bird splat". Sorry, Benedict. *crickets* (Bird splat???) (I'm on a top ten google search for BIRD SPLAT.) (Sorry, that's just not sinking in.)

Sometimes I get these weird thoughts, like how I'm trying to fit in a causative universe, and then I wonder how in the world I even got that idea, like what does that even mean when I can't even imagine a noncausative universe. Rhyme and reason, me pushing google around and it pushing back. It wants to rate content, I litter content for it to rate. My existence is measured and found wanting during a fail week, and being human is rewarded with being quickly forgotten in a machinistic inclined society. To step beyond a tree falling in the woods, this brownie literally doesn't exist unless I talk about it somewhere. I'm eating a brownie. Now it can exist.

Probably the singlemost influencing fanvid of my entire blogging life.

the celebrity death addiction thing

This is as far as we've gotten this weekend.
Despite sloughing off all those corporate and business accounts, my twitter analytics is insisting that my highest demographic is homeowners with good jobs (a third of you completed college) and a preference for premium brands, equally spread across political affiliations, and 18% of you purchased new cars in the last 6 months. Seriously, for real. It says that. Most of you prefer drama and comedy on TV, and sports is about equal with sci-fi for solid lifestyle interests. A little over 500 of you that I still follow are actual people and still currently active on social media.

In one year flat I reduced my twitter followers from nearly 3000 to just under 600 and didn't hurt my social media cred at all. My klout score has held rock steady in the 60s this entire time. 2016 is the year I proved that 'growth' does not equal WORTH. This is especially noticeable in my monthly impressions jumping another 100K the last couple of months, and if that doesn't mean anything (like I keep insisting), at least my daily/weekly/monthly engagements have held just as rock steady as my klout.

That's right, some of you just realized I'm doing the end of December stuff in November. This will probably be it for end of year assessment. Lotta people out there will be measuring 2016 in end of the year recaps by how many celebs died, by how crazy politics got, by how movies did at the box office, by Wall Street numbers, by trends in this and that games and software, by world catastrophic events, and that list just goes on.

I still have most of my friends. After 4 years. If you guys knew my personal history on the internet, that alone would sheath my house in gold.

@bonenado still has his job, despite the company he works for being on the market for nearly 3 years now.

I have gone nearly 3 years now without an autoimmune flare, and my health overall continues to be the best its been in my entire adult life since I changed everything in 2011.

I was talking with a friend the other day about how it feels when things are going good and you automatically think it means something bad is just around the corner.
[11/24/2016 4:10:38 PM] Pinky Robot: I'm a proactive doom & gloomer, too. I always ready for the other shoe to drop. But it's ok to enjoy the moment.
[11/24/2016 4:11:20 PM] Pinky Robot: And bad things sometimes happen because we're just being dumb and not paying attention.

And I was talking with @bonenado last night about how in shock everyone seems to be about celebrities dying all through 2016, and I was like- how was it any different from 2015, or 2014? Because those years sucked for celebrity deaths, too. And you know what? It's going to be like this from now on, because we grew up with these names and faces, we are ALL getting older, and now we're going to watch all of them steadily die off. This continual barrage of celebrity death shock is never going to end.

2017 is just around the corner. Celebrities we haven't lost yet who could go any time-
  • Harrison Ford (yes, all my readers just seethed and hissed at my blasphemy)
  • Morgan Freeman (omg, noooooooooo)
  • Donald Sutherland (srsly iconic)
  • William Shatner (I've already wept over the eulogy I wrote years ago, my most read piece EVER)
  • Christopher Lloyd (not Doc Brown!!!!)
  • Bill Murray (shtap already *weeping*)
  • James Earl Jones...
And apparently I'm not the only one looking up "oldest celebrities still alive", because Google search filled most of that in for me by the time I'd gotten to "oldest cele". There are a LOT of people we're going to be losing over the next ten years, and as we age with them, as social media keeps us informed up to the minute and second, O Best Beloved (Kipling), we are going to hurt every time we watch parts of our lives 'die' with them.

This is the cruelty of social media. Mass mourning is a thing now. Some of us are learning to disengage from mass mourning because it triggers too much stuff, and we wind up plowing face into that nasty depression wrecking on the highway of life thing, over and over and over.

My 2017 isn't going to be like that. I'm not going to let social media jerk me around and make me feel helpless and sad. I'm going to expect the world to keep turning and things to work out, like they usually do, and I'm going to continue focusing on my goals and why I'm here.

We have another long month to go before the end of 2016. Will social media crash your holidays? They're not going to crash mine. Not this year. I did that crash thingy last year, it sucked, and I can't go there again.

I'm an alcoholic with a history of child abuse and emotional neglect. I'm just now coming to grips with the stoicism that a- kept me alive and b- lost me all my friends over and over. I'm an aspienado that tears down belief systems and rips off masks. I'm a mess and a pissy dragon that eats people's heads. I can't be going down into a weepy bottle every time a celebrity dies, because above all these things, I am an alcoholic with a history of multiple medication addictions. Even if these addictions are considered 'mild' by some doctors, they lasted for several decades and withdrawals were wicked as hell.

So I won't be joining any of you in condolences and lamentations and remembrances every time a celebrity dies. I'm still not over losing loved ones, and I still emotionally crawl through nearly every day. Mass mourning and addiction- wow. That's a cycle that will never. end.

I ran into a couple of outstanding articles yesterday.

Are You Being Gaslighted In Your Relationship? Dysfunction as a way of life. I see this all around me in a variety of expressive ways.

The Opposite of Addiction is Connection Totally nailed it. I got so lucky meeting @bonenado.

Depression over holidays is a real thing. Depression moves a lot of money into hands selling drugs, meds, and alcohol. You probably already know you're going to be depressed around whatever winter holiday you celebrate, even if you are singing all over your house while you decorate. You think you can beat it this year. You think you can show depression who's boss. And then that sucker punch will come- social media will hammer home someone you loved all through your childhood dying right around the big holiday, and you will fall. apart. Because that's the mask stuff over the real stuff. And you will reach for the nearest bottle of something to deal with it.

You're not weak for trying, and you're not weak for succumbing. You are hurting, and you need hugs and help.

Why Pinky is on social media- depression, suicide, and Pinky's revenge

Aspienado dealing with juggling chainsaws and eggs in public while living with depression and chronic illness on autism spectrum- ~metaphorically~

Holidays are hard. Pinky is hacking through the emotion jungle and drawing a survival map. We can do this.

I reprised the broken cheesecake. This is coffee and chocolate marble in a rice crumb crust. It's my fave holiday dessert nowadays because I'm diabetic and allergic to lemon pie (*snif*) and it's the lowest carb dessert I can find to make without fake sugar in it.

recipe-
Crust- 1 1/4 graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 c sugar, 1/3 cup melted butter, stirred together and patted into pie plate. (I substitute 4C gluten free bread crumbs.)
Filling- Mix together 2 8-oz blocks of cream cheese, 1/2 c sugar and 1 tsp vanilla, then mix in two eggs.
For the mocha swirl, I pour half the batter into the crust and melt 1/4 c. chocolate chips on the side. Moisten 1 t. dried coffee in a drip of water, swirl into remaining batter, dollop half that onto the batter already in the crust. Swirl the melted chocolate into what's left of the batter, dollop the rest of that in between the coffee dollops. With a utensil, run lines through both ways and then on a slant both ways.
Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Do NOT add a topping when it's done unless a label says it has no carbs because it's been replaced with artificial sweeteners. Fresh berries are ok if you don't add sugar to them, but please use your glucose meter to verify this and not my word.
This one's for Shatner still being with us and Nimoy for going on ahead and all of us left here in the wake. Bless the person who made it, and I don't know if it's the person who uploaded it, but that youtube account was created 5 years ago specifically to upload this vid. It's special, guys.

explorer extraordinaire stopped for coffee

~I started this yesterday~

I'm having an interesting day on Pinky blog, so I thought I'd do a little investigating. Sometimes my biggest days are pure accidents, but it's hard to say. One person's keyword search 'nothing but pinky blog' sent me on my own keyword search, and besides porn, I ran into this cool pinterest board. This pin is my fave on that board, clicks out. That Pinky also has a tumblr and a shop, but I can't tell if they are still active.

So that was cool, but didn't account for the big surge. A couple of people retweeted on twitter, but that still doesn't account for the majority of incoming before I posted today. Blogger is kind of pointing at facebook and google, statcounter keeps insisting it's Rick Lagina luv and weird searches like 'gerbil costume' and 'coffee helmet' (what???), but from what I can tell, people are actually stopping to read several pages. I guess today is cosmic Pinky blog day or something.

While I'm seeing this stuff, I'm also seeing that my top GTW impression (not clicks) is, are you ready for this- www youtube repeater strange animal noises in woods repeat in loop. Yeah, no idea what the crap, but for some reason, my blog has popped up in search 1,684 times on that.

That totally beat out 'Rick Lagina death' impressions, which are currently at 1,771. Srsly, Rick, GET A BLOG. Geez, dude, I feel like someone who accidentally got your old phone number or something.

Google analytics runs 24 hours behind, so I can't see the last 12 hours, and I don't get much from them anyway. The best trackers I've ever had were Xanga's internal tracker and sitemeter, but I can't load sitemeter onto new blogs any more, so wah. Those two trackers would give me blow by blow with referrals, and sitemeter would throw in a map, no hesitation. I've tried several trackers on the side, but they're such bot magnets that I'm like just forget it.

I know, I should probably be paying more attention to my Lexxperience stats. Someone in Ottawa keeps checking on the Xanga site for stuff, plus things are still jumping every day over there. I'm just still so bummed about Xanga, I'm sorry. K, now I just depressed myself, time to go do something else again.

Oh, by the way, the old Mo Creatures 1.7 server is GONE now, thank goodness I got all those pix when I did.

~later~

And the new server is live and my downloads are done but I still can't get in. photo hyper.gif Egads, and photobucket was down for maintenance, so I had to go back and get that.

At least my dishes are done. The laundry is nearly all done. Hang on, I'll go finish that up.

~now it is today~

I asked in forum about the new server, it's not ready yet. My excitement is in limbo.

Sausage with burnt crispy edges is awesome. That is all.

Not in the mood to dig up google analytics now. No longer care who did what where when.

All these pix were me hanging out all by myself in the coolest town on an abandoned server.

We finally got a cooler morning, down in the 40s. Can't help thinking all the different deer seasons (bow, black powder, gun, whatever) are such a drag this year for a variety of live parasitic blood suckers. People make a game out of asking what you'd want for a superhero power, I think I'd want to automatically repel everything that wants to buzz around, crawl on, and otherwise bite me. I think I would install a restraining order good up to at least 50 feet or curl up and die as I pass.

You guys have no idea how long I've wanted to mock @bonenado like this. Twitter analytics says over 12K people could have seen this one.

This one's still my fave this month, though. Didn't amount to much, but it made me giggle. The Flash is my fave show to live tweet.

 Where was I? Oh yeah, missing Mo Creatures.

I don't know if Alien ever noticed that I defaced his 'twins', so I posted it on my profile page at the moc forum. "I found evil, and evil I did become. Ok ok, I just put the roses in their hands and lit up the eyes. I think Alien made this."

I keep doing these long sighs.

Plans today? Nope. Just keep moving and doing stuff, nothing in particular, but somewhat productive, whatever it is. May wind up going back to bed. I've heard rumors of another virus sweeping through the area, also wondering if this flu shot did kinda get to me, maybe just still worn out from October and then so much stuff stacked up this last Thursday. I'm in negative spoon territory. It's NOT helping that autumn allergies are still in high gear. The last of my Z-pack is wearing off, the whole sinus thing is ramping up again, and I feel like my head wasn't done dreaming yet.

So back to bed it is. Or...

This guy must not know the fill command. And now I've gotta go try this on one of my realm worlds and watch it blow up. See ya.

rub some bacon on Doctor Strange

Written late yesterday afternoon. Skip if you hate anything stats.

I think my favorite thing about statcounter is that it'll totally believe everything about you is in another country, including your hardware and software equipment and hosting and user service, and then blandly point blank say incoming from this city and state in the U.S. that is completely unrelated to Mountain View Google, Facebook, or any other massive bot referral masking system, and then I know the user manually adjusted the IP to look out of country. If everything about the IP is too matchy, that's a mask. A normal person with the usual stuff can ping up to 5 IP locations hitting a page because everything your system uses from hard drive to wifi IDs with its own ping, and out of country using almost anything chrome or google and especially a translator pings through Mountain View, and then Facebook has a couple main locations that I know is FB routing the ping before I even see referral address. Anyway, I waited a few weeks to see if this would happen again, because one day they got a little Pinky happy and I didn't wanna scare them off, but I guess not.

So here's what happened. They thought they were masking, but their corporate network pinged and I was able to easily look up that corporate HQ street address and phone number in the heart of Orange County, so this whole "I'm from Canada" thing is stupid. Also, it kind of looks like they might have bids out to national defense gigs, among other things, so basically I think I'm looking at players covering a hacking organization with a security front.

By the way, a Brazil association also came up, other people discussing this in forums, so another clue for the ol' Pinky List. I can't help wondering if this is how and why all these account compromises you hear about with banks and host servers and stuff keep happening. It's like inside jobs from super spies setting up sabotage wait I mean corporate strategy services and bidding out jobs.

Or it could still be this pissy head cold and I'm reading way too much into a few little numbers. You know, because weird. That's all, it's just weird. But I srsly feel more comfortable about Pinky blog being linked through a few porn sites in several countries and Ukraine bots crawling my pages than I do about pretend I'm from Canada while I ping your blog over and over for no rhyme or reason thing. Actually, kinda miss those Ukraine bots. I wonder what happened. Maybe they got bored, or my site mapping got too overwhelming, bcuz over 700 posts now with a million links. Or maybe someone got caught... o_o awwww.

Today.

I've already got 36 points from LeGarrette Blount in Thursday's game, woot! Week 3 in #SnarkFF (Snarkalecs Fantasy Football) and I'm up against Mandie, who has a fun fashion blog at pinkhairfloosie.com that I enjoy checking out. Click her pic to see lots more.

The swan thing at the top clicks to the facebook convo, also made an earlier tweet. Still not sure why that called to me, unless it's a retro design triggering a childhood memory of somewhere I've been.

So, MacGyver last night. I wanna say it was awesome, but I was still able to tweet through it, so it's on awesome-reserve. I'm more on edge with South Park's new drama this fall as Skank Hunt's 'reign of terror goes global'. Honestly, I had missed seeing this last ep when I wrote my troll post, had no idea how perfectly timed that was. If I had seen it before I wrote that, I'd have used South Park memes instead of those other ones. Love me some Dr. Ken. I think that entire cast is fantastic. We actually dropped a scifi show for Dr. Ken, so that's saying something. Superstore is our other laugh candy. Dina is my spirit animal, very well played by the stunning Lauren Ash. I may hafta keep track of her for some memes in my future. The real star with us this week is the new Lethal Weapon series. Not very many drama movie series get me hooked, but I'm a hardcore everything Lethal Weapon fan, and I thought they did an outstanding job casting and filming and getting that story rolling again.

No idea how I'm going to keep up with all the TV coming up. There's too much. I'm sure we'll be running behind a lot of it like last year.

Twitter is my Jag, lol.

I think we might have the weekend off, and now @bonenado's got this head cold from hell and sounds terrible, poor man. He poured maximum strength mucinex into his coffee IV, and you've gotta know he's not a meds man AT ALL. If he's taking something? ~*~it's bad~*~

In case you're not aware of this yet, very cool.

I so cannot wait for this movie. I'll probably have to wait forever for it to be released to Dish and DVD. There's a martial arts in film review directly after the trailer. I studied Jackie Chan's Drunken Master frame by frame and behind the scenes diaries, just brilliant.

That's right, I have absolutely no agenda today. I'm blabbing on about not a whole lot. I need to peel off here and go cook some bacon. This is for @bonenado's head cold.

df :edit: ignore that, it's not code for anyone, just a place holder after a bunch of html that I forgot to wipe.

66666

So this happened.

Ok, what are the odds that I'd actually catch an interesting stat count, much less that exact number being right next to that exact picture?

A scant few of you might remember this happened last spring.

I might not have even caught it but I was trying to wake up in a head cold daze from a head cold nap after a 3 year old Batman prank called me behind mama's back, which is a great way for me to wind up in anything analytics, and somehow I wound up on the statcounter config page where you let it know all the domains tied to your project, and I'm still so fuzzy about what that even actually really means when it's giving me a list of out of country domain anchors that are still my page, plus the basic twitter short link, and I'm trying to dig up ANYTHING that specifically says "This is your domain even with a different country after the dot, so click this box" and instead running into detailed instructions on how to block both statcounter and google analytics by inserting it into your hard drive coding (wait, slow down) and another page giving a red type defcon warning about not running both programs at the same time for one domain (WHY, TELL ME ***WHY*** throws laptop) and for the love of pizza, can someone with a real brain please spend a little time making it easy to understand whether or not pinkyguerrero.blogspot.com/ru is mine. I am srsly to the point where I'm Ross flopped back in a chair.

Everyone I know is ready for me to be over this cold.

Misaki would be a cool name for a chicken

I was reading a very long analytical article yesterday that included using proper placement with key words for more exposure. Ladies and gentlemen, that tweet up there is your model. It outstripped nearly everything else I did last night.

That article spent a great deal of time going over ranking and stuff and utterly failed to do itself what it was advising others to do, like be linkable with a picture and slug share, etc. It's like getting instructions from a physicist on everything wrong in your life and then you find out they can't even make pancakes.

Android is my favorite
I hit 102.8 over several hours yesterday and finally got hot enough to start stripping back down to one layer, yapping away on twitter, sorta floating in a surreal bubble of fever, like you do, when it hit me why I don't like Dark Matter. Don't get me wrong, it's a great show, awesome people, good story, but the writing is so canned. Everything that comes out of their mouths is so bland to me that I can barely pay attention even with all the cool CGI and crazy action drama going on. This is what I heard last night on the season finale. Spoiler warning if you haven't seen it yet.

 : There is a bomb.
 : We need to find that bomb.
 : Where could that bomb be?
 : Crap, we just lost Six.
 : You're the bomb!
~brief internal struggle as processors digest a thousand years of philosophies of existence in nanoseconds~
 : He blew himself up.
 : Wait, there's another bomb.

Everything they do in Dark Matter is predicated with a statement about what's going on, kind of like reading a book. Yes, there is mystery and hanging on the edge of seats and figuring out puzzles, but there is a deep lack of using the actual story to tell the story.

Remember, I'm feverish watching this...

I was also ticked off that after Misaki sliced Nyx with that poisoned blade that she had to waste time standing there telling her with so little gloating or any other emotion, and then politely walked around her body. Guys, if I were a murderous assassin, I wouldn't waste my time even talking to the victims, and I'd have stepped on the body leaving the room. You never see a murderer step on a body on TV, which would be the ultimate insult when one has just taken out the next empress.

If you want a better review than this by an also kind of disgusted action-drama-romance author, you can get a more indepth recap at Veronica Scott recaps 'Dark Matter' season finale, 'But First, We Save the Galaxy', who says "I think at some point nearly every character had explained something to someone, at much greater length than I felt necessary." You can see Victoria Scott's website here.

I would love to explore this space station more, but it was only there to be blown up. I thought it was the coolest part of the show.
I can't believe anyone actually voted, lol. 2/3 of the voters were correct.

Super fave on Sherlock winning an Emmy. I love that this is all taking place inside Sherlock's mind.

Enough. I need to get ready to run out my door. I assess out of physical therapy again today, after that I'm going to urgent care to see if my ears exploded. Need to move a teeth cleaning appointment because it's obviously not cool dragging this kind of stuff around to people who actually touch my mouth. Rest of the week will probably be gross and then catching up the laundry and dishes.

My ears and head and everything still all hurt fairly spectacularly, so today I'm being gentle. This is really beautiful. This guy got me through some really bad years. You can learn more about this artist at Real Music- Hilary Stagg.

and that is how you lose your back to origin

Took a little break from writing over the weekend to concentrate on practicing my hardcore survival parkour on MoC before the server wipe and we spring forth on the new server. A few others quickly caught on, now that everyone's de-towning and staving off feeling sad about losing all our hard work, and I've had a lot of fun over the last few days hooking up showing off our stuff to each other, teaming up, and strategy planning with a few other players who've been on quite a long time compared to me, but previously lurked more in private chatting.

I've not done multiplayer like this before (i.e. ~social~, lol), so naturally I'm weird and awkward, and thank goodness I had the wit to put Austin's amulet in a chest before I tp'd over to one player's cool stuff and then around my stuff, and then splitting up between my new ocean spot inspiring lighthouse construction from a new friend while I ran off looking for the new village a couple others of us had saved. In the middle of my getting lost and swimming in the wrong direction, I discovered a desert temple half buried on a small island, pulled lighthouse person in, who apparently has loads of experience with such things, and before you know it, I'm standing on big blocks of TNT splitting loot (and the TNT), and then other-person accidentally falling through the one-layer floor into an awesome cave and dying, a shout after respawn for me to tp down with a last second rushed command to shirt first, and next thing you know I'm in lava losing ALL MY STUFF and the TNT blowing the place sky high. I didn't dare /back for anything, naturally, and I was laughing my head off. Shirt? Oh, <shift>, lol. Die hard and learn, as it were. Should've been vidding.

Finally got back to the village, which is already looking like horse town with stables and a mansion on a hilltop looking awesome in the night over the village, so metro (and the villagers love it), and confirmed that yes, I had indeed set my amulet aside, and that was all I even cared about. I immediately hopped on and flew around real good before logging back off.

I left out a lot of nonstop surprises, mostly comedic because I'm so inexperienced with other players, but apparently I'm really good at organizing impromptu action, and you guys already know wherever I am, weird things happen on MoC. I've definitely got to recreate the giant platform on new MoC, because a new friend died there so fast just landing her fairy horse and I was already being attacked as I dismounted. (Hi, come over and see my place, oooh, sorry about the dying part...) So when I say the platform over hell itself, I really do mean THE PLATFORM OVER  HELL ITSELF. Leave it to me to figure out how to crank up the aggressive mobs around a demonic temple, even if it does look like a Chinese restaurant because I was in a hurry because the server is going to be wiped.

Ok, here's the thing. I was getting video, I thought I turned it off about 7 minutes in, not sure why it kept running and how I didn't even notice until it finally went off automatically at an hour. This took all night to load, but it's actually pretty neat, especially at the very first where all the awesome flying horses are (there's a galaxy horse!), and since that's why I got the vid in the first place and meant to turn it off, it won't hurt my feelings a bit if you don't watch the entire thing. But if you do watch (and it's really not bad, I was with someone seeing stuff) about 25 minutes in you see me facepalming over doing the unthinkable- losing my /back option. I had delhome'd that huge abandoned castle I occupied for weeks in favor of sethome-ing the new ocean bunker, which takes 3 days and 2 nights at the very least to fly to because it's so far away (we're talking a solid hour of flying, real time) (yeah, YOU press a button for an hour, it sux, plus I had to emergency land in a lightning storm and several other things, died a couple times and lost my place and had to start over) so around 26, if you watch this vid, that is some pretty furious thinking going on while I was walking around getting some chocolate chips and making a cup of tea in real life, and then I get going again around 32. I will never ever ever be clever and install fancy buttons on a server I can't tp around at will by coordinates, unless I'm constructing a trap. I love that tower, but that elevator button was my bane. Ok, lost my thought. Oh, yeah, I hadn't yet sethome because even though I was THERE, I got interrupted and thought Oh, I'll be back in a jif, no probs... So yeah, you get to see me starting all over again after the furious thinking during the quiet part, getting completely distracted by another village discovery around 45, but then the vid auto-offed before I finished the trip, so you don't see me get there because I feel it is my civic duty to light up and repair villages... I'm getting really good at village restoration and preservation, getting faster and more efficient every time, actually manage to keep villagers alive. At 52 I home to a previously beautifully restored desert village that had already been abandoned to get some supplies to bring back. Turns out you guys miss the best part. That new village that distracted me was right next to the absolutely most beautiful flowered forest I've ever seen in all my singleplayers, realms, and this multiplayer server, and I just stood there stunned seeing something no one else had. It was everything I dreamed, with the perfect extreme cave in the background, horses, forests like parks, ponds. It was like a biome blend, several gently stirred together into just the right consistency, and it's about to be wiped out forever. No griefed abandoned trash left by other players, no chunky house or petting zoo in the way, no castle or other showy buildings. Just a dreamscape not yet filled in, kicked around, wadded up, and thrown away. I was very sad to leave it after I fixed the village up.

And in case that sounds boring and you like the analytics reports better, I'd like to thank the eyes on twitter who made my personal tweet link as popular as a tweet to Russell Yuen that got retweeted by Ellen Dubin. You guys need to go follow them on twitter, they're both interactive. Ellen - Russell Also, Ruth does some really nice interviews and reviews.

Artwork by RJess, who has translated a bit of my Lexx writing into Russian at Lexx Universe, and also moderates the Cryochamber group on VK, which is really cool.

I've got more yap, but this is already long enough. Leave it to synchronicity for a fan to make this new vid just as we're psyching up for the server upgrade.

Pinky's aspienado obsessions in triplicate

This was my favorite tweet out of the entire Sharknado marathon yesterday.

In case that disappears, here is the time stamp.

Sharknado is good for my klout score, lol. They're in cahoots. Neither one is worth anything without the other saying "Good job!"

If you are not familiar with live tweeting and why it's considered important in some of the business world, this is what a live tweet does with my twitter analytics. The shortest bar up there is 59 impressions. The tallest bar is 6,999. This isn't bragging, I have friends who get way higher spikes and even higher regular activity, but they also get better engagement because they interact all the time. Some never interact and get ten times the engagement (retweets and link clicks) because they've discovered gimmicks that pull people in, however, and quite sadly, there are automated bot accounts that do exactly the same thing, so c'est la vie. Fine tuning presence is like a game, or maybe like learning to drive or fly, and there are a variety of vehicles. Klout is comparable to Google, it's been tightened up and lets you know where to tweak for more visibility.
Why Your Klout Score Matters, and Why It Doesn't

~~~~~wild gear changing~~~~~~
Note- I am not a professional journalist, reviewer, or historian. This post is my opinion and doesn't represent anyone else mentioned. Please do your own research and don't quote me as a source. Media watching is my 'aspie train obsession'.
I don't know if I'm the first to suggest this, but Syfy is fascinating me with what kinda looks like an evil plot to own the world in the guise of the Sharknado series. It hit me when I saw this tweet come through during the #Sharknado4 live tweet.
One of the things (I'm guessing) holding up a Lexx franchise reboot is Syfy owning the featurettes that appear on the original print, and thereby retaining a toehold on character license. It doesn't matter who else owns distribution rights or whatever, as long as the franchise is sectioned out under several contracts, no one can touch it going forward. I can't help wondering now whether "Christine" being secured via Sharknado 4 into the Syfy contract fold will do the exact same thing, along with all the other licensed rights they purchased into.
Syfy is worldwide. I've been watching them since the late 90s, watched Vivendi court ordered to split down into smaller company families so that they wouldn't become a media monopoly. Syfy is part of the Universal, MGM, NBC family spawned through Vivendi (how many of you didn't know American news was owned by a French company?), putting it way too simply, and now they're all over Ubisoft, and I won't go on, but pay attention to that because it explains a LOT going on out there that confuses us little casual viewers and gamers who wonder why it can't be simple. (The Time Warner list is also impressive. Here, this.) But I will say that Syfy (originally during Friday Prime on SciFi) was the first network to include web links in its viewer advertising, and I know this because the store I worked in was the first retailer to contract into this new wave of crossing social media streams.
Syfy has worked very hard for a long time to procure, produce, and rebroadcast shows from around the world. Lexx wasn't an American made show at all, but a Canadian-German production also filmed in Thailand and Namibia. Several scifi and fantasy shows have been migrated over to the U.S. from the UK and Australia exclusively through Syfy before dropping back off the American radar. Americans really had very little awareness of the scope of film outside the U.S. until it could be contracted in as import, and it seems suddenly (over the last ten years) we've become very aware of shows we're missing. The UK was the first to world-sync a live broadcast around the globe with Day of the Doctor, but Syfy was the first network to stumble onto a mass trending live tweet completely changing sales, scheduling, and production projections in 24 hours flat. Up until the first Sharknado movie, everyone had to wait until 'release' dates on however their show was contracted. Syfy threw that in the trash. 'Available NOW' became a thing overnight. (Yes, you have Sharknado to thank for that!)
While reviewers go crazy over the writing, acting, and filming, and fans go crazy over cameos and salvaged careers, a few of us are watching Syfy carefully collecting everything it needs for the winning hand. They've bided their time, carefully injecting money here and there, looking like they were wasting Fridays on sports (WWE is owned by Universal, and so is Syfy- that is a really interesting corporation history) instead of their actual programming description, rerunning Mansquito until we were all sick of seeing the title, but all along, they were collecting other properties, investing nickels and dimes, and now look at them- owning red carpet parties like they just bought out Hollywood. Quoting Star Wars and everything else under the sun like it's no big deal. Anyone who makes money on other people's stuff knows you don't just glibly rip things off as you please. I'll lay bets they had lawyers going over every jot and tittle they could do with Star Wars and everything else they could parody in Sharknado 4. And once those jots and tittles were in place... Well, I'm guessing it becomes part ownership. Not the same way they own the Lexx featurettes, but licensed to partake, as it were.
Syfy saved Lexx from a one-off season when it moved from Showtime to Syfy. The same thing happened with Sliders. FOX was going to let it go, Syfy picked it up and they kept filming. Because that's the kind of thing Syfy does, I have always been a huge Syfy fan, not because I'm a crappy film fan (I'm a huge Raimi brothers fan, along with the original Princess of Mars kind of stuff), but because I'm a Syfy network fan. I've been watching the money since the very beginning, and particularly since Friday Prime, back in the Lexx/ Stargate SG-1/ Farscape days. Lexx and SG-1 were both Canadian owned, and Farscape was Australian. Syfy was the only network (besides PBS) bringing out of country properties to American viewers for a long time. Now it's no big deal, seems like everyone is dipping toes into world film, although the big Brexit thing across the pond put a serious dent in film production lately, but Moffat announced he's passing the Doctor Who torch 6 months before it happened.. Maybe he was paying attention.
Did Doctor Who predict the Brexit fallout 6 years ago?
I could go deep, but I'm not going to. I just wanted to say I appreciate Syfy's brilliance in ways regular viewers might not be noticing. I live tweeted Sharknado 4 because I think viewers are fantastically witty and make watching the show way more fun. I feel the same way about Walking Dead and several other shows, I simply don't watch them without watching tweet feeds. The best part of Sharknado 4 being so ridiculous is the hilarity and emotional roller coaster that comes through in the live reactions, the real time feed straight from the viewers. Watching pop sensation TV without twitter has become rather flat for me, a little too one-dimensional. TV writers for Syfy shows have clearly geared up and stepped up for real time viewer enhancement and takes real time viewer interaction very seriously. What do you think inspired the sudden super competitiveness in Netflix and Hulu investing? Syfy spent years setting the standard for the new business model while the world adjusts to streaming. I imagine in another ten years the next gen won't even know what a broadcast schedule is, and will think it archaic that we used to wait 8 months to see something in one country that was made in another, because of scheduling.
Oh, nothing, just sitting around my house playing minecraft. HEY, I think I figured out the horse problem on mo creatures!!! They use both original minecraft horses (which can be tamed and saddled but not named) and mo creatures horses (which can be elaborately color bred, tamed and named, and saddled with special equipment).
After I tp'd my original named moc horse and left the game for a week and came back, I tamed a regular horse (which I talk about here) in another location without realizing it wasn't an moc horse. I thought I neglected to name it because I was in a hurry and didn't notice it was unnamable to begin with. I couldn't get it into a corral, so I tp'd it in, and then got the bright idea to tp the named horse into the same area. The command is /moctp <petID#> so the original horse transport would be /moctp 1. The coordinates in this snip is the pen the horse was before it *poofed* out, and now it shows up as being 'unloaded' on a coordinate block where I was tp'ing it to.
Now (below) you can see that 'dead' moc horse in the location I tried to tp it to (but it doesn't show up), along with my newest moc horse, Brizon. The regular horse I tamed had ID -1 (negative one, gone now because I killed it), so I'm thinking tp'ing it must have corrupted the code block for the moc horse when I tried to tp it later, because its ID is 1 (positive one). After a lot of reading, I'm thinking the long-standing pet glitch I see in old forums might be that people are accidentally corrupting code blocks for moc pets when they load regular mc pets.
By the way, 'unloaded' didn't seem to affect my rabbit at all. Yes, you can wear some of your pets on your head. Great way to transport them but you can't do anything else like open a door or gate without them jumping off.
When I look up I see this. Kinda like a cat on a glass table effect.
By the way, once I found and tamed Brizon, I didn't even attempt to tp and risk losing him, so I had to ride him like the wind across the lands through a day and a night, and those moc horses can really run fast, jump high, and climb steep. Regular mc horses are duds compared to moc horses, so I'll never make that mistake again. I had tried taming another horse in between and wound up getting killed twice, and even the horse got poisoned by a witch and staggered around after I was off of it, so I just killed it and started over. Brizon outran all the mobs like a champ, it was marvelous.
Ok, this is the desert temple project. It world spawned nearly completely buried in sand, so I'm digging it out.
All this was under sand. I feel like an archaeologist.
I think the village looks pretty cool over there.
Well, this got ridiculously long. For some reason, I'm not sleeping much alla sudden and in super focus mode. Thus begins my 4th week on cartia and neurontin. Countdown to follow up on Friday. omg, someone get me off this blog post...
