My Monday started with flipping a broken purple pen into my first cup of beautiful coffee. How's yours? Wish I'd taken a pic and used it as today's demotivational poster, but here's an even better one from someone else. Click it for more fun.
I haven't had a medrol pack in so many years. I remember being miserable on them, and now I know why- my extended blood pressure spike is incredible. If I lived like that all the time I'd be dx'd stage 2 hypertension, which is considered extremely serious, so I may forego the rest of the medrol pack. The goal was to reduce possible fibro flare induced tissue swelling around craniocervical area, which was also spiking my blood pressure, and something's working because that pressure is gone, so hopefully this all settles back down fairly quickly now. All I can do is just keep an eye on it for a few days.
I spent Derby Day on Mo Creatures. Is it any surprise? But I did stop and watch the pre-parade and the big race. I know some people might think it silly to make a big deal out of little things like a fairy horse on a minecraft server, but a years long loose string came together beautifully in my heart and head over it, and only a tiny handful of people have a clue why, because I never talk about it.
A difficult era has begun in family around me, setting the background behind Pinky blog for a few weeks or months. I like to stay focused on my own stuff here, but want to recognize loved ones coming together in support and many big feelings. I know this is probably a weird way to pay homage, but the story behind Purple Rain is important, the spirit of sport is a big part of us, and yes, half the state just flooded, so I'm deeply appreciating this video this morning. (I'm loling that it's a Saints field in a Vikes family, but I do have a Saints fan in the house lately...) The love is strong in this family in spite of some very long hard roads.
All that fun rakey rakey, right? I stayed indoors and watched out a window, but it all dragged in anyway. Time to strip the house again. Even @bonenado is a snot monster, and if *he's* bad...? It's bad.
People who also deal with chronic skin conditions have even more fun during allergy flares, just by systemic histamine spike immune response association. I have a mild 3x4 area on one lower leg for a couple of years that's barely even visible but responds to absolutely nothing but leaving it the hell alone, or it'll look the f* like hell, dammit (srsly, what did I do to piss off those skin cells???) For some reason that's the only spot, but I know a few people who tolerate way more. Psoriasis vs Eczema: What is the difference? View 18 Photos
Anyway, mine flared up into the Itch From Hell last night during The Walking Dead while my eyes melted into this caterpillar in pupal stage goo, so I feel for everyone going into Thanksgiving with this kind of stuff going on. If being infected with the zombie virus would mean living without histamine response, I'd take it in a heartbeat. I'm usually past all this by mid-November, but autumn was late this year, then suddenly arrived like the Biebster, and now the exit flourish is destroying some of us. To people who don't experience allergies-
Take a day off from complaining about other stuff
Go outside and breathe deeply and ENJOY THIS PLANET
Share your joy about this big beautiful space ball we live on
Thank you.
Ok, it's Monday, I have to strip my house and go through another little bottle of eye drops.
I was looking for a Monday before Thanksgiving demotivational theme, wound up in Black Friday parodies, then hit gold with a minecraft parody of "Friday". 2.3M views don't lie. And now I'm stuck in "Friday" parodies. Happy Monday, guys. You're welcome.
4.8M views. Where have I been?
K, back to something that will actually help me go get things done.
I know you guys don't believe me, but I really do blow stats off quite a lot. I like seeing trends or the silly stuff that comes through keyword searches, but I rarely get anything 'real', like a google earth shot of your dog in your backyard kind of thing, right? So when I buzz through and do the eyeball snag that results in the screechy stoppy turning back whaaaaa thing (speed reader = extreme sports) and then do the staring till my brain flashes a little sign "please close mouth now" where I actually nearly faint because I'm so surprised I've forgotten to breathe thing (srsly, I do this) because I realize I've practically got a street address and then I do the realty thing and and the quick looky uppy thing and go wo.... and then start giggling just a little bit.
Anyway, that pretty much made my week, and I hope you guys get something fun this week, too. Countdown to my birthday is on (3 weeks *mark*), countdown to TWD is on (20 days *mark*), countdown to Halloween is on (4 weeks *mark*), and I'm crossing every digit on my body I don't get any more stupid germs before I get my flu shot in 16 days. Btw, totally called all the FTWD stuff even though I don't actually look at the TV when it's on because I'm doing other things. Can't believe I got sucked into that show.
I'm just now looking at my fantasy team this week. Looks like my guys are done. Uh-oh, looks like Jim has one player left tonight. I could still yet be toast.
Mold count in Spfld is over 45,000 already. My sinus is on fire. Hello, autumn flood season. Wait, we have an autumn flood season?
O_O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was looking for a demotivational poster for autumn and ran right into this. My brother took that pic, and I know because he took it several years ago on his property and used it as a cover on his music site back then, and I told him it was a really nice pic and he told me he took it himself. Incidentally, when you click this pic back to source you can see the date this poster was loaded, which is 2 weeks after our mom died. I looked through the user posts and found out the birthday month is different, so my brother didn't make this. You can see the same landscape in a post I wrote that included a pic from one of his kiddo's wedding reception.
The synchronicity is strong this morning. *gets more coffee*
Busy week coming, gotta rock out the door every day till Friday, and I'm not holding my breath on that one. I will say one thing. Any man who gives a woman crap during a severe post partum crash is pure selfish, and meemaw is pretty pissed.
Although it goes against my better judgement and experience to keep promoting other people's junk, this slid into my DMs and now it's your #mondaymotivation. I'm not endorsing this person, but yeah, this is about where my head is right now.
Poor @bonenado dragging out of bed for work after a big weekend doing nonstop work outside and then a late night marathoning several eps of s2 GoT. (Yes, we're behind.) Happy Monday.
Don't you 'Happy Monday' ~me~

Part of our big excitement was a bee swarm showing up a little too close to where we all wind up outside. It is practically on top of the neighbor's garden, and directly across that from my car. Last thing I need on top of the worst tree allergy season ever is a bee sting. Between 2 different bee crews, we'll see who gets it taken care of the fastest this morning. Lotta beekeepers in the Ozarks. This is a good way to fill a hive with new stock for free.
The hummingbirds finally showed up, too. @bonenado was actually starting to pace over it.

This next is me fussing yesterday about an algorithm again. Ignore it.
I've been a little irked with blogger's inbuilt top count system because it isn't accurate at all. Out of the top ten posts of all time displayed, one never actually made it into the top 18, according to my list of anything that broke over 150 views. 2 more displayed in the top ten never made it into the actual real top ten, yet they are sprinkled through the top ten rank like they're big stuff, while 3 others that got more views never made the top ten at all. It's very disappointing to see it so mangled like this, and I have no idea how in the world their counting algorithm explains any of it (unless it's a sort of burst count on how fast views come in when first published, but that still doesn't really explain it), so I removed my top ten all time widget. I thought about making a manual list of top 5 posts, because they've held pretty steady and they're easy to check on, since the view counts are way higher than my regular highs, but meh. I already have too much real work to do. Top 5 counts right now are 629, 544, 291, 225, and 217. Pretty sure the first two are Ukraine app bot thingies, the 3rd one has meth in the title so of course it gets hit, the 4th links from my Lexxperience blog, and the 5th is featured in my right side column. No big secrets to popular posts. If I wanted to venture into 6th, I'd just facepalm about possibly being the only person in the world actually blogging about rioting if Rick Lagina dies. I really do need a blue ribbon for that title, yet it never showed up in my top ten all time, thanks a lot, Blogger. 7th is actually one that earned it's spot, and I worked hard for it, 8th was a porn gimmick fluke, 9th was a complete misunderstanding, and 10th was a thought process about identifying with characters in a TV show, and I'm a little fond of it so I'm glad to see it actually gets read a bit.
I put this here for a friend
The popular last 30 days is actually correct, and the top posts as time clicks by every day are genuinely reflected in that count. Even if an older post suddenly takes off again, it gets picked up by the counters, and as the counts drop back off over the last calendar month, the ranks go back down.
click for hilarious Russian antics
Question everything. Never take your counter widgets and services for granted. I could go on about google analytics not being the darling so many think it is, but again, meh. I actually get more hits on tags anyway (groups of posts), which only show up as overall visits, so I don't have a clue what a lot of you are even reading, unless you load the main dotcom from a bookmark or outside source. But not to worry, still can't see you because you're all smart being logged into google browser and masking yourselves. Well, most of you.
I'm being boring this morning. It's part of being in withdrawal and filling up the void with GoT instead.
do I even have to say 'click for more'?
clicks to moving gifs
One more? Srsly, bcuz #Monday.
actually clicks to other cute memes that have nothing to do with Benny C
Me yesterday after @bonenado laughed at my hair. Yes, I know, I'm not Benedict. Look anyway.
Yes, yes, one more... Just a real guy like us. Except he doesn't dare whine about Monday mornings out loud. Clicks to more Ben stuff in case you can't move on yet. I need to move on.
Fell asleep watching The Talking Dead and woke up cold and coughing. Coffee isn't easing the crabbiness much, maybe 1%. This should be called the crabby index. Click it to go find out your own crabby index.
In lieu of writing anything else unless something pops into my head, I'll just put a string of videos here. Wait, first I must warn you that this guy in France has his own line of Sims character "Sherly" Sherlocked merch, it's really cute. Here is "coffee relaxation".
If you're in the mood to listen to him talk in French, here you go. I mean, Monday is already confusing anyway, right?
I imagine watching gaming vids would be the fastest way to pic up another language.
I'm not doing minecraft myself to rank or level up. And right now I'm just getting through the rest of whatever this is. Still no word back on the throat culture.
You need this today.
Oh good lord, I've migrated to musicals. This is my 5th one. I may as well give it up, today is shot. This is for all my friends and lurkers out there who loathe Mondays.
I was just reminded it's not Monday. Between 3 calendars in the house, a smart phone, Jawn right here in front of me, and a TV, I'm obliviously still living in Monday. You people who think Mondays suck, imagine having two of them in a row. This isn't the first time I've done this. I think getting that call yesterday moving my Monday PT appointment to today just dragged the whole day with it in my head. It's not helping that my minecraft is in serious lag. I don't think I survived the time travel or something and I'm out of phase. Like this torch just hanging in mid air.
That's underneath my sand manufacturing facility. Can you believe this building was once part of the sand?
I've also been doing tree farming experiments. This is the beginning of a lattice network platform. Oak and acacia don't seem to mind being crowded, but I don't like the tree farming advice I'm finding online because it leaves great clouds of leaves hanging in the sky. I'm pragmatic, but I don't lack appreciation for aesthetics.
I don't do well watching TV with @bonenado without twitter. Keeping one eye on live tweeting greatly reduces friction in the house, but thanx to thunderstorms, no Walking Dead Sunday night, and you know how it goes when you catch a midnight replay on the DVR, you get the last minute of the show before, and that really sucked because it was that same ep, so right off the bat we were both cranky.
So time change, 2 Mondays in a row, major TWD spoiler last night, no twitter saving us bcuz my arms frickin hurt holding my phone, and now minecraft lagging, but coffee was srsly awesome this morning, and I slept really good a LOT this weekend. Bring on Tuesday.
Healing takes time. I took a bit of damage, but like figuring out how to lattice a platform on a tree farm in minecraft, so I lattice my way back up my mountain. And maybe the lag is a mirror of my little head thinking it's still Monday. I made it through the hardest parts. The. hardest. parts. How can I not look back on that and be joyful? Every sunrise I see here on this earth or in minecraft, I pause and remember I held on.
Last night was pretty exciting. I was having a buncha big thoughts in the shower and wound up thinking about how not even the Doctor could get the Sliders back home, like you do, and emerged to @bonenado feeling upset about not being able to find his giant stomper hunting boots that he'd been rummaging around in the basement for and suddenly switching gears wanting to know if I'd want to watch The Blacklist, and I gave up, all my cool thoughts went down another drain again, held frustration at bay hoping I'd be able to pick them back up later, because I had a neat idea I was going someplace with. And now #IWriteAboutItBecause I'm hoping I can trigger back to where I laid down those thoughts.
First order of business was to squelch the ADHD and redirect, so I led the way back down into the basement and patiently refocused gerbil brain back into more logical questioning over and over, do you remember the last time you actually had the boots, did they disappear before Thanksgiving because remember Twink was moving and there's all this 'new' stuff down here now, the mini trampoline kept coming up so obviously there was a reason the boots had to move off the trampoline (I conceded his logic for them being on it in the first place was actually sound to his way of thinking), and over a little time putting a picture back together from probably about 8 weeks ago, he suddenly went straight to them buried out of sight between and under a bunch of furniture and sacks and boxes covering a kids' plastic picnic table, where they were sitting on the seat off the floor. (He's watched every version of Sherlock ever made, I don't get how this process of rebuilding a crime scene hasn't sunk in yet.) (Maybe that's why I was always bored with all the other Sherlock versions and he's still glued to Elementary.) (I really hate Elementary, I have to leave the room.)
See, you can't get basement floor odor on the soles of hunting boots by setting them on the floor. It's ok if they sit on everything else... We've had lengthy discussions through the years about the mysteries of odors and hunting superstitions, so yay, we found the boots and went back upstairs to watch The Blacklist. I really don't think Elizabeth Keene should have been able to recover that quickly from a nitrogen-heavy suffocation that blacked her out, but I digress and the show must go on.
And then Scott dreamed about drugs and the FBI swarming his work last night while I dreamed about alt worlds where I made other really cool stuff on the webs that felt so real that I had a hard time waking back up to this world and going, 'oh'. Not as cool here as the last me I visited.
So here I am, coffee in the brain, and still trying to remember that really cool thing I was thinking last night in the shower that I couldn't wait to get out and write down before I forgot it and then got brain bombed. The danger of getting back into the shower and trying to recreate the scene is having all new cool thoughts crowding out the old ones that slipped away, so best just stay out of the shower for awhile and see if some utter peace and quiet will bring it back, now that @bonenado has left for work.
Mondays are like this. Every Monday. Every. Monday. My brain and I getting reacquainted, chatting about this and that over coffee. Starting all over again with making a Plan. Scott is still driving my car, but I hope to be getting my keycodes to the new lappy guy by Wednesday and picking new lappy up by the end of the week. Might be coming out of the depression dip soon, kinda seeing shafts of light getting into the darker corners again. Arms hurt like heck all night because I held my phone watching the live tweet feed while the Vikings teetered on the edge of ridiculous fail, so I've gotta stay away from my phone today and let my arms rest again. My hands finally stopped hurting somewhere in the night. You know, I don't say much (I really don't), but when a person can't even hold a spoon to stir something, yeah. You should see me putting jeans on. Ok, maybe you shouldn't. I have this trick where I hook my thumbs in the belt loops to pull them up. I've already been through a couple of years where I couldn't tie shoes or even put on my own socks, so I've got all these little tricks I'm going back to.
I do know that idea had something to do with 'all of time and space' being just a tiny blip in the reality of our own universe amid a consortium of multiverses (a bunch of a bunch, I just wrote), and how one would go about conveying that idea in a story. So I started crossing Doctor Who and Sliders and had this brilliant epiphany of phraseology (that's a real word, guys), and *boop* it's gone.
Really wish someone would do a fanvid of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to Lady GaGa's Edge of Glory. If I had the time to sit and do stuff like that I'd have whole novels on the market by now. I need staff to do frivolous things for me.
Nope, still haven't recovered that thought. Maybe later today. In the meantime, making my way through another Monday to some kind of breakfast.
Worn out and facing a big, long week again and thinking- WHERE'S MY LIQUID PAPER?!?!?!?!
Iz Monday, I'm the boss, and I'm calling a corporate meeting. This is my meeting jam.
Looks like everyone is here. I have a tiny staff. I do all my own office management. The votes on new business are always 100% once I wrap my whole brain around whatever's going on. Right now we're discussing dropping a couple of items off this week's agenda in order to retain the integrity of productivity and other big words. No one is protesting, nods and grunts of agreement all around.
So that's it then, we drop the scheduled item on Tuesday and route the problem through a trial holding pattern, and if it's not resolved by next week we'll throw it back on the table. Objections? None. Moving on.
Dissension is stirring about powering through a month of physical therapy on top of cold and flu season as we watch everyone around us dropping like flies. I rule with an iron fist- PT is mandatory. There will be no whining! And now everyone is calling me mean behind my back.
Ok, this meeting went all to hell a little too quickly.
oh wtf, just click for a Ben board, you coffee beanheads
While the rabble buzzes about Ben, The Boss of Me over here thanks goodness that I at least got all the #TWDLiveTweetReview snips done already, and there are a LOT. I quickly list necessary maneuvers in order of priority- shower. That's basically it, actually the only real priority before I leave the house. OH, and cancel that thing tomorrow. Might be a good idea to pick up something for supper on the way home.
I was going to tear the bed apart and switch to the winter flannel, but I got only 4 hours of sleep last night and I think I need to send my entire staff back to bed. I'll let them play around a little longer before I tell them, let them think they're getting away with murder on company time, and then they'll cheer and think I'm an awesome boss. I really am. I care about my people. I'll change the sheets out tomorrow since we're rescheduling tomorrow around anyway.
Ok, let's see, I need something to distract my wayward slackers away from their keyboards. Maybe they'll follow me like the Pied Piper if I walk away with this going. It doesn't make sense, but it's Monday, nothing makes sense on Monday anyway. It's Monday morning meeting #bencongruity going back to bed party music.
Everyone's talking about how we've never seen an August like this. Lush. Green. Wet. Oh, yeah, we've had rain here or there, but this still looks like May/June. We're supposed to be in pre-Halloween prep by now, practicing our dried up dead looking stuff. Our autumn spiders are gonna be ginormous this year.
I'm in Bunny recovery today. I can't complain, usually by this time of year I'm a mess, and I couldn't help noticing last night how white I look, as in not noticeably autoimmune reacting in my face. I'm never white. I'm taking this as a good sign that I'm staying on top of squelching my histamines. But back to recovery- I kinda regret the dance-off. This is after I gave out. Anything that makes the least amount of any kind of music gets her started. I really don't know how Scott is still doing this here after several hours of super hyperactivity.
I'm getting Gamera recommendations on youtube now. You guys do NOT want me digging up fanvid dance tracks to Gamera. You know if I were a movie software enthusiast I'd be torturing you all with Gamlock, right?
Too late... (Check the kid wearing the "I Bang Up Work" tee. Happy Monday.)
I've got more stuffs, but thunder, and maybe going back to bed.
Orange u glad when someone else pops up and says an alien is growing in their stomach, too? All those crazy cancer, tumor, ulcer, appendicitis, and hepatitis fears suddenly fade and it's ok to laugh because someone else is miserable now, too.
I just stopped eating for awhile and had Scott put a restraining bolt on me so I wouldn't kill him in his sleep.
Just kidding, I went out to the couch so he could sleep. I made up for it the next day by following him all over the house talking nonstop since I'd been awake all night reading wikis and TV show hashtag tweets. He's ready to go back to work now.
I think I'm about ready for all that flooding rain back...
I'm still in mean mode. You'd be mean, too, if all you ate before a 24 hour fast was brussels sprouts. Coffee was about all I had most of Sunday. I am tentatively trying a piece of leftover bacon. I need enough calories to get into endo today and discuss whether I might be trending hyper thyroid again. We can't seem to get that line to flatten out for anything.
Latest work section you guys can't see yet is called Self Awareness is a Tricky Bastard. My favorite line out of 1785 words so far is "You had no idea that green beans and toilet paper were that big of a deal, did you?" Ok, that looks awkward. Not what you're thinking. Here, have a different sentence. "As Mom and I slogged together through my dismal social fails of kindergarten and first grade, she slowly gave up trying to torture self awareness into me."
It'll take all my will power to care enough to get a shower before I head out this morning. I nearly put another Sherlock vid here. Sarah said no. She says you wimps need to go chew Monday up and spit it out. GO!!>=l
But that doesn't mean we can't put on our evil villain smiles. This one just cracks me up no matter how bad my mood is, I can't help laughing. The original is huge, I saved it as a wallpaper.
Own your Monday, guys.
And in case that doesn't work, click these for sarcasm memes.
And now for your irritating Monday morning music. If you must kill, kill joyfully. You're just lucky I didn't find this in a SpongeBob motif.
Wouldn't it be cool if we had search engines in our brains? I could type in "How old is my Ghost Hunters shirt" or "when did I buy my Ghost Hunters shirt" and bing, answer right there. I'm trying to remember. It's so old now I only use it to sleep in, looks pretty rough.
In other news, I ran into a barely seen somewhat beautifully done alt Trek pon farr fanvid, and glancing down the list of moar stuffs on the side there was a vid that had both Spirk and Spork in the title, and I'm all like Ok, who the heck else is part of a Spork menage, so I put it into a search bar and dang if I didn't come up with actual Star Trek sporks.
There are even ~get this~ Spork t-shirts. This one is unavailable but clicks to more that you can still get. You're welcome.
And then, of course, doing a 'Spock spork' search was just insane. This one clicks to an ST meme board on pinterest.
I'm still so innocent...
Someone figured out how to move stuff and hide behind furniture with her apples.
Someone else cruisin' for chicks in pre-gamer mode, all tatted up.
Tent happens. It's a thing.
Spent part of the weekend attempting to wrap my head around what I've got written so far. Couple of sections will be obliterated/changed, the rest is mostly like jagged leaps from stone to stone across a river. I write like I read, apparently, inside out and backwards. I'm to the point, though, where I can now go back through all the old blogs and spirals and permanently check stuff off as what's left gets transferred. Most of the really raw writing is done, I think. It hit me as I was organizing that I've probably got the hardest part done now. The rest will be more like time consuming refiling. After all the blog salvage I've been through, I can see me being more comfortable with that.
Rachelle Gardner says in her Memoir Guidelines that my autobiography can be as long as it wants but thinks it would be polite of me to stop on the shorter side of 75,000 to 120,000 words. Chuck Sambuchino thinks "Coming in a bit low (70-79K) is not a terrible thing, as it shows you know how to focus on the most interesting parts of your life" but says definitely stop at 99,999. Virginia Lloyd thinks 90,000 is a reasonable limit, but says if one goes over 100,000 it must be compelling material.
I'm currently at 84,000. There are two sections that might get chopped out and replaced, and I'm pretty sure I'll be adding at least another 20,000. My contract (seriously, guys) says I can go to 300,000, but even I can't imagine going there with an autobiography, even though I never shut up on blogs.
I'm dealing with such layered material that it's been a challenge to actually write it coherently in a somewhat organized fashion. None of it can be stated simply- my parents believed in 'breaking' a child to learn obedience without question, and since I 1- have Aspergers and 2- went on to get a sociology/anthropology degree, I can speak for both inside experience as a child and outside experience as a mother that this doesn't work. Unless you're into actual programming. Which isn't that far of a reach, I'm finding out. Throw in some other crazy stuff and yeah, I've got material that'll curl some hair.
Iknowthangs.
In the meantime, not sure if leaping from obsessing over Sherlock to obsessing over Khan is a healthy direction, but it's certainly inspiring for world domination. I'm in a pretty twisted place right now. Time to GET TO WORK!!! >=l
Super thrilled that my fasting blood sugar is still coming down to 86 in between being spiked up a bit all day long the last 3 days on the prednisone. Even avoiding carbs my blood sugar has been staying up near 200 for 10-12 hours, usually doesn't do it that long, so by the time I can finally have a little salad dressing on some real salad, I'm pretty sick of nibbling cheese. Even the $20 a pound cheese. Losing weight again is nice, though.
Still fighting with my phone trying to get a single picture to my laptop. Still falling for the old nvidia card blackout when lappy plays tricks on me. Hello, Monday. This is me staring at my tech. Click it for more Monday fun on pinterest.
Oh, here we go, me on the prednisone.
@bonenado would like this one.
Ok, where was I originally going with this? Oh, yeah. I have a list of internet grunge chores to do today, and I better get on them because they are backlogging the same way the long countertop in my kitchen is getting buried under everything I keep moving every time Bunny comes over. Oh, here we go, finally got ONE picture through since last night. She felt pretty big in her new life vest.
Work music. This?
Or this?
Neither one is doing it, I need something stronger.
