day 4

Crazy weekend smashing junk around but I think we're making it. I seem to be past the worst of pain med withdrawal, got a little unreal for awhile earlier today. I can't express enough how serious a problem that is for people like me who spend like 2 chronic spoonie decades surviving med addictions and withdrawals, especially after meds have impacted organs. My liver has been the star of my medical history for about 15 years, more notations have been made on it than anything else in my body, and I'm not even a drinker.

I planned the tree getting set up this weekend way ahead of time, so I got that on track this morning when I was able and Papa was awesome with Bunny getting it up. It's the old easy tree, prelit and only 3 pieces to put together, and Bunny is big enough to do the decorating herself now. We can keep adding colorful candy canes and tinsel as we get closer to Santa. We've come a long way from the winter an undecorated tree sat there for several weeks through the entire holiday while Bunny's mama was in another hospital across the state for complications, same surgery I just had. That was 11 years ago.

I think Bunny just had her 3rd basketball game this weekend. Heard she tackled a little boy to keep him from getting the ball, lol. 😁 Has made a few baskets here and there, so she's getting the hang of it.

I'm barely aware of time flow, being so medicated, but ran across a couple of difficulties others are having. Brianne's family lost their home and everything they had this week to a fire while they were out of town. If readers know her from the #Snarkalecs or other groups on twitter and facebook and are wondering what to do for a holiday charity, there you go right there. I don't know if she'll be available for DMs like where to send gift cards, and I'm still waiting on a link for a fund page, but don't let me being goofy on meds after surgery stop you from being awesome, ok? And if I get more info I'll come back and link it here. Ok, here is the fund page. I've known Brianne for several years, huge Stargate fan, loves teaching, had the coolest Stargate wedding on live facebook and her kids were part of it, thought it was pretty special that she included her media friends in that. She's a bright light in this world, so like I said, if you're looking for a charity, she's needing our help right now. 💕

I'm still floaty but I think I can hang in there for #latenightmovie tonight in the chat room at SyfyDesigns with @LNMGang around 11ish pm eastern time. 🍿

swearing off

I can't even describe the weird sick nerve headache I got all over my body about 30 minutes after my body discovered the quarter chip of baclofen was all it was getting. Thank goodness it passed or I'd be curled up in a ball. I've been on a quarter pill for 4 days after a half pill a day for a week, and 3/4 before that, etc. That's how super med sensitive I am. I can't even just drop off, I have to grain it down like I did getting off benzo meds. I'm doing my best not to pile drive my face into a food mound. I poured the coffee out after my second cup so I wouldn't go after a caffeine substitute.

That was yesterday. This is today.

Accidentally deleted the rest of that with a slash maneuver instead of shift. My right pinky is so klutzy.

Last night's shock is still ripping around my head. I think we can agree she was the best of our twitter gang, and the least deserving of an early fate. I think it's hitting us older ones a little differently because she's the same age as our own kids, and with her baby only a year old, all the meemaw feels. I appreciate P letting us know. A lot of people just delete all their stuff and/or disappear without anyone knowing what happened.

#Snarkalecs. Always.

post post title here

Mel and I exactly tied at one point last night.

She's got a tight end left, I've got a wide receiver and a defense. I'll try to be gentle tonight.

Ok. Twitter and Facebook, looking at you guys. People actually telling, no- commanding people they've known a long time to unfollow if they didn't agree on candidate. I can't tell you how many times across accounts I saw this happening, so I'm not picking on anyone, but I feel a disturbance in the force. Lemme help you.

  • You have a block button.
  • You have your own unfollow button.
  • You have a mute button.
  • In some cases (thank you, Facebook), you even have a "I'd rather not see posts like these" in your settings.

Venomously telling people to unfollow you regardless of history or length of relationship is idiotic, stupid, shallow, mean, and completely undermines whatever faith in humanity motif you feel you represent. You know, in case you wake up sometime before holidays and wonder why old friends or family are no longer talking to you.

By the way, Snarkalecs win the internet. Brava on actually making the debate funny.

Moving on.

@bonenado's new ride. 80K, 10 years old, nearly perfect interior. Well deserved. It's about time he gave himself a break.

And these guys.

Most years it's ladybugs smothering our house, this year it's pine processionary caterpillars (beware that link, I had to cancel an auto download, but it's an excellent study), and the really stupid thing about them is that the hairs can pierce you like porcupine barbs and can cause rashes and eye irritation, and even allergic reactions, which we all know would be really bad for moi. Hundreds of them are all over the ground, my front deck, and around my door, and just picking up a box UPS dropped off meant having to roll it around knocking caterpillars off all sides without touching them. They are creating the most prolific 'bagworm' year we've ever seen (bagworms are something else entirely), and it's actually visually pretty because it's so saturating that it's creating a pleasing balance across the landscape.
8 of the cutest toxic caterpillars

In other news, we're all asking, "Where is autumn?" Looking at watches. "It should have been here by now." This year is just weird. We've had fast autumns where the leaves all go brown and drop in one week flat, gorgeous autumns that suddenly vanish after one stormy night, long staggered autumns where the trees are confused and slowly realize 'oh', but this one is the first time I've ever seen #allthetrees forget to turn. Next week is traditional peak, and people are going, um, wanna plan an outing around autumn peak, not sure how to do this...

getting back to my twitter roots

Ok, I think I've about got my twitter the way I want it now. Still get a few random CEOs popping up in my feed, easy to nick out. If you are a Lexx fan on twitter and I unfollowed you, it was likely because I either didn't realize or your feed is so gunky and gummy (or old and abandoned) that I don't remember you being one. I'll follow you back again if you let me know, but you'll need to answer a Lexx question to prove it. I've had too many 'entrepreneurs' retweet something Lexx just to get a follow.

By the way, to anyone else offended by my hashtag bio preferences (yes, that actually happened), SyfyDesignsSnarkalecs and my own content outrank being tagged a million times. I still can't believe I got ripped on for what I put into my own bio, but there you go.

This song has been stuck in my head for at least 12 hours now. Yes, even in my sleep.

I love that song. But then this one muscled through and told me GET TO WORK! This was the song I used first coming back out to keep me motivated, when everything I was doing was very slowly putting scraps from a very distant past back together again. Guess it worked. Lots to do today, so I'm going to get on it.

shout out post to @VickiAddesso

I get so distracted chasing rabbit trails through search engines that I can't quite remember how I got here, but I've been wondering if someone made an app to Pinky blog for sport because of a particular weird stat thingy, so I searched 'pinkyguerrero app', right? I've mentioned before that there are 12-14 Pinkys out there, so I don't automatically float to the top in searches unless I use word combos that more specifically point my direction.

Anyway, this popped up three pages into the search

and I'm all like, ok that's weird because it doesn't go back to a tweet, and sure enough, it doesn't, but why does it have twitter handles all over it? Here's a good one for you, Vicki- Did you know this is how much your book costs in India? I have no idea what the exchange rate is. Click to check it out yourself.

The .in part of the address, according to wikipedia, is this- .in is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for India. The domain is operated by INRegistry under the authority of NIXI, the National Internet Exchange of India. INRegistry was appointed by the government of India. (Here is the original author page.)

I'm just really super curious how in the world that Amazon book page wound up associated in a search with a bunch of SnarkAlecs' names listed along, more specifically, the random retweet gang. As long as they find you, right?

And then just two more down from that is this page where I left a comment.

Anyway, apps. I tightened up my search a little to include the country that amusingly keeps coming in on the same post (because it's weirding me out to no end that it shows up on blogger stats but seems invisible to statcounter, google analytics AND google web tools, yeah, which makes it even weirder if blogger is able to pick it up, because blogger is a google thing, right?)

And I ran right into a 'expired and deleted dotcoms' list (if 'a' refers to list, do I hafta use 'an' because the next word starts with a vowel, even though it's demarcated as a different part of the sentence? These and many other things send me on wild goose chases) with my blog name nestled right in the middle of these guys. You can click the snip to go to the list if you want to see what else is on it.

GUYS, I COULD OWN THE DOTCOM.

Aaaand, guess what, that was the easiest purchasing and pointing I ever did. GoDaddy is awesome.

So I blame this post and Vicki for me owning my Pinky domain now. And this is how most of my public growth has come about, accidents and synchronicities that stack up like Lego blocks. I blame SnarkAlecs in general, plus Myke the instigator, and that cool guy who first linked me to his awesome scifi site because of Lexx and introduced me to Myke in the first place.

Pinky is a thing.

I just noticed the time again. I really need to keep bouncing around doing stuff.

You guys knew there's an official Sherlock youtube channel now, right? They loaded this one last week.

Still counting down at #Shezzaday 2.

Pinky Pharoah

Yesterday was pretty epic, wasn't it? Biggest news was American Pharoah taking the Triple Crown.

And then there was the #SnarkStock2015 hashtag crawl. Click that link to the left to go to the hashtag feed and see way more pix with more SnarkAlecs in them. :edit: 6-8-15 There's a new page by @TonySolo where you can see all the pix now in one place, yay!

Plus we had Bunny from the break of dawn till nearly noon, so my day was pretty full.

It's been ages since I tweeted almost nonstop like that for nearly 12 hours. Remember when I used to tweet around the clock every single day? My phone croaking back into the Dark Ages finally broke me of that. Oh, well. And now my laptop is going geriatric. Average lifespan of a laptop is said to be 2-3 years, but this one is 5 now, and I'm pretty sure I'll still be using it in another 5, even if I get a new laptop later this year. I'm still using a 25 year old portable CD player.

I don't remember whether I shared that I discovered the Adult Wednesday Addams channel on youtube. At first I thought oh no, someone porned her up, but it's Grown Up Wednesday, and it's pretty cool. The vids keep getting removed while she lobbies for permission to use the character, but here are a handful of rescues from devoted fans who keep loyally reloading them.

AND, omg, there is an Allehandro Sherlock, erroneously misspelled as awkwardly as Pharoah. Too bad it was also awkwardly made and cut off halfway through the song, because the parts that did get done hint at some actual thoughtfulness and creativity. :edit: 6-8-15 For someone who didn't give a crap about that vid sitting around not getting views, it sure got taken down fast after someone actually linked it (moi). Well, guess who does vid rescues. I liked it. I hope one day it gets finished.

And that was the second time I had to reboot because opening youtube keeps knocking my Kaspersky off for some reason this last week, and since rebooting turns it back on, I'm not going to freak out and mess with settings. I'm sure someone out there is feverishly working on fixing something and then there'll be an automatic update of some kind.

I'll be so glad when everything is synced into one big universal thing and the interface probs go away. I know that's anti-capitalist of me to say, but I see no other way to stop this madness. I still envision a futuristic Star Trek type Federation, so I'm on board. (Gasps break out among some of my friends and family. I'm a sellout. Scifi has corrupted me.) Yes, I know it'll escalate, but I blame Admiral Marcus. Do you ever wonder if this is what it feels like working feverishly getting an update ready for laptop/internet interface problems?

twitter gangs

No idea what's up with Snarkalec Radio, big show coming tomorrow before a big break over the holidays or something, rumors flying and stuff about the piranhaconda egg hatching and devouring the hosts. Two years of pulling what amounts to a second job that's really more like an unpaid full time hobby probably turned them into the zombies they've discussed with so much vigor, so maybe they melted partway into the floors and are vainly flapping around growling at passersby. I may have to go back to reruns, because I liked running the shows in the morning while I get my chores started. I got a little silly this last year making these.

I also know several people with family in hospitals, job problems, financial challenges, and other whatnot, and for me, twitter has been the best way I've gotten through my own stuff last couple of years. Got my gangs going so I can keep touching base to keep my balance when holiday pressure feels like too much. I've lately been inducted into #teamspooge. Not sure I could explain it, but I have truly found my people. These all click to source convos.

It's not for the faint of heart.

This must be clicked to understand. Remember, not for the faint of heart...

I also seem to be part of an underground squirrel mob now. If people only really knew...

A sampling from my photobucket. Had a really bad winter awhile back, everything turned into squirrels.

I usually avoid religion and politics, especially around the holidays, but I may have finally found my particular stance on #gamergate.

I dunno, I just really like these guys, you know?

And while I'm free associating all over the map, this is happening.

All this before 7 a.m., so you know the holiday nerves are throwing me against the walls already. I've got a big ol' chore list to cover today, and I'm starting it off with my fave Christmas song EVER.

the sleeping dead

What a nightmare. +_+

I was to be part of some huge college testing, and as I was getting ready in the morning someone moved all my clothes, then once there my tech didn't work right (we had to watch a video with headphones on as part of the testing), and after a couple of hours of utter angst and fail I finally got a professor to talk to me about a reset, at which point I abruptly woke up. Then Scott told me that after staying up late watching war movies, he dreamed he had to cut off a guy's head because no one else wanted to do it, and he can't remember if zombies were involved or not, but it was scary and awful.

So we bumped around getting our coffee and turned on the TV, and this is the very first thing we saw. Scott is all excited now, wants to try for it.

Don't forget about the new season starting back up tonight on AMC. I hope to be live tweeting with the SnarkAlecs and maybe start my twitter review back up again.
