things going on before the calendar flips

March 2007
egg and feather courtesy of Jaizzy, collectible tray via my grandmother
Random photobucket pix for no reason.

Dec. 30, Saturday

Cut 7 inches off my hair. You can't even tell because it was so long. It's still past my shoulder blades. I talk about my hair more on my spaz blog. I mention it sometimes on this blog, too. If you're having hair issues, I seem to be solving mine naturally if you want to look through those link threads.

July 2007
snapping turtle in our yard, wouldn't let go of the flip flop
Went through my closet and all my drawers for charity donations and discovered that since the gallbladder removal, I'm a size smaller in shirt size now. Nice! (Didn't even lose weight for that, lol. Guess my poor tummy was puffy for a good reason.) I still like big and comfy, but I'm medium chested, so blouses have always fit funny. I might be able to get some sweet clearance blouses at Penney's if I can go down a size now.

I nabbed this many years ago from the original Hampster Dance site
Making chocolate pie for Papa because he's been exceptionally good this week being home with me and Bunny while she's off school. Pudding pies have less sugar than some pies (and way less starch than pastries and cookies!), and I bulk up the eggs from 3 to 5 or 6 (meringue with extra whites and still only a tiny bit of sugar is excellent), and with the milk that's pretty much a chocolate flavored protein pie. I don't do those very often any more, but that's going on today. I'm diabetic and am successfully controlling with diet, which I talk about in several places but lightly recapped into one handy post. I know it's hard, and I really hope I can help. Btw, don't be dumb and plow the pie down too fast. One piece, wait a couple hours before you dive in again. Be smart about controlling your glucose levels.

February 2007
proof that my husband was not the only person there with a camera taking pix of people they love standing in a line
why this was such a huge deal I'll never understand
Working on a new winter/spring syllabus to get me organizeder around here again. For awhile I was really good at daily/weekly/monthly lists and last couple years those have gotten more and more bombed with real life stuffs, so I need to find a more permanent way to keep my lists in front of my face. Bunny has a little chart... I might need to get me a chart going. She'll be jealous of my stickers. I may need to rethink her little chart because it uses magnets and those are kind of backfiring. She sneaks magnets on. Maybe stickers are the answer.

January 2007
I used to mock Scott's Minnesota teams
I know right, baseball Cubbies all month during the Superbowl wait
we're still married...
Dec. 31, Sunday

Watching the fireworks go off around the world on twitter. Wondering if I'll be able to stay up tonight like I hoped. Maybe I can get a nap.

March 2010
I have a long day ahead of me. A new year is nearly here. I can't see my future very well, but I do know that I'm ready to capsize all the boats now. A little toast to 2018, and hopes that I finally say it all. I'm ready to move on to the fun stuff.

I'll find my way

I'm inserting random pix off my photobucket for no reason at all.

July 2007
Scott has no fear
So my internet is slower than a slug in an ice storm right now. I can't pull up a game server or youtube or facebook or anything on search, and not even blogger. So I'm on notepad. I wonder if I'll be able to paste it over later. I hope it keeps this font, I really like it.

April 2008
Steve the duck, turned out to be a girl
I'm in 'flat effect' lately, likely a survival mechanism for holidays, and my emotional interaction is at one bar out of five. It doesn't mean I don't care, it just means that if I start feeling the care stuff, I'll cry easily or get upset over stupid little stuff. It's easier to just not feel while it all passes over.

March 2009
vulture right by the house
I don't have big plans for Christmas. Scott will be on vacation from work in a couple of days and be hanging around through the new year. Bunny's school vaca will coincide nicely with his. Even though I'm recovering very well from surgery- wow there's no scroll with this... hang on.

June 2009
for real, in my henhouse, this snake was 6 feet long all stretched out
Dang it, I lost my font. }=l Lemme see if I can manually recode it here now. Oh, cool, I fixed it. Weird, now the wrap is off. Oh, ok, human error.

December 2012
feel lucky not to live inside a city
Ug, now it looks awful in blogger preview. It's daintier in the editor. Hang on again. Ok, at least breaking it up in colors helps.

November 2011
I found myself! Pinky Robot
My eyes have really changed this year. I'm having difficulty seeing colors on black. I used to have so much difficulty seeing black on white. Honestly, I can see colors on white the best. Wonder if I can change the background. Ew, total fail. I need the entire background blanked out. I'm too tired to dig around in the advanced editor. I'm going to re-black it out, apologies to those of you who get Pinky posts in emails. I don't know yet if this will turn out really hard to read like that.

November 2006
coming back from Dogwood Hill
And now the code is so mangled in my html (that's so laughable, I hafta use CSS for a lot of it nowadays) that I would be a fool to go back in there and try to fix anything. So, I'm going to stay out here in the 'compose' editor and hope I don't super screw anything up.

March 2008
we still have this truck
I really don't know why you're still here reading this, but in case you are, I'm about to get back to Christmas, lol. And I guess I'll just stick to this color now. Where was I? Oh, yeah.

October 2012
along my street
Even though I'm recovering very well from surgery, I'm not perky enough yet to jump into Christmas, and since I'm not that terribly helpful (except keeping the dishes and laundry done up kind of thing), I'm mostly stepping back out of the way and everyone can do their thing and not worry about me. I am pretty much doing my usual bowing politely out of plans and just humming along in the background helping some of the chaos run a little more smoothly, which I'm really good at most of the time anyway.

March 2008
from my back yard, high up on a flint ridge in the Ozarks
So on Christmas, I won't be cooking much, won't be going anywhere, and will likely be focused on the Mo Creatures server and the Doctor Who special. It's looking like we won't be getting fiber hooked up by Christmas like originally planned, the crews are going a little slower now after breaking water lines twice, and every home will get two visits between strategically mapping best hookup and then testing actual hookup once the lines are finally all in the ground. So between electrical brownouts and weather affecting my router, work crews blipping my existing wifi here and there (radio interruption is horrible around here, doesn't take much at all when your neighborhood is laid out along a flint ridge), and my usual chaotic real time interruptions because life and people and stuff, I'll likely be popping on and off, afk-ing, and intermittently checking my social medias on my phone all through Christmas Day.

March 2009
also from my backyard
Well, that's about it for now. Maybe I'll try to share more pix through 2018. Hope you guys are having fairly decent holiday seasons, and if it's stupid and hard, let's just keep ourselves distracted and busy and checking in, ok? I'm sticking around, and I'm already slamming 2018 up against the wall and telling it I'm the boss of me, not the whimsies and fates of a world around me freaking out over every little thing. 💗

V'Ger

I was looking around in photobucket and discovered that I have to check a thingy now allowing them to link out from private albums so that what I link on blogs can still be public. I'm going to guess that this is one of those surging into international https compliance things I'm going to have to keep an eye on, one more little box to tic on a very long list of my own maintenance chores I seem to be letting slide a lot more these days. Anyway, if some of you are running into missing images, that's probably it, at least I hope so. If not, several thousand images going back to 2004 might be turning into little empty boxes for some other unfathomable reason, but the Lexx stuff seems to be intact, and I'm assuming that's because most of that stuff is housed in a public folder.

This last week was my first full week in 2017 without a major pain or med challenge and it was pretty wonderful (especially considering how well I'm doing on one of my worst allergy months). I did what most people do given a chance to actually enjoy time passing- chillaxed. It's not often I can just hang around doing nothing, so I relished it a bit. Well, actually, I got busy on a long neglected project I started 2 months ago in Mo Creatures, a very dangerous 3D sculpt that requires my full attention because it's so easy to fall and die and then have to run around looking for all my stuff while I fight critters below... Anyway, my sculpt seems to be attracting the pertinent critter to spontaneously spawn really high up, so now it's even more dangerous. Cool, huh? This will eventually become a giant spider web. I'm tickled that it might have real spiders on it. No idea if the sticky webs I placed encouraged this one to show up. I reap those with a shearing scissor from mineshafts deep underground because they're cool and fun to play with.

You noticed, right? A giant spider web where the brain would be behind the glasses... Because I'm on the webs, and other deep stuff. I have way too much fun being literal with my creative side, I think. Most people stop at words like 'bizarre' before they run along.

I also spent a little time doing more exploring. One of my fave things to do is just run and see. No map mods, no waypoints. Just run. Players on the server have no idea I'm probably the only person there who's taken a real cartography class and had to make a real map. I love maps. But real freedom is tossing the map and just running. Or swimming. Lotta swimming.

I know, I'm still using super default. I'm mod-free except for the server load. If you guys could see what I see in my head both on and off the server, you'd never look at mod packs the same way again. If the question ever comes up what alien or synthetic life form I find myself most attracted to and feel akin to, it's always been V'Ger, kinda lost inside and needing to find a way to reach out and communicate. I'm simple on the outside. Inside are wonders only I ever get to see. I can definitively say we are not our brains. It's like we're seatbelted into automated super computers and don't have a clue. I've actually been able to watch mine work, and I'm pretty sure some kind of self awareness goes down to the cellular level, but very unlike our kind of self awareness. Being human, a conscious entity governing a whole self-correcting universe of cohesive units acting in tandem for our every whim in order for us to emotionally and spiritually learn things without having to be too distracted by overlording the physical, is something my actual brain can't even conceive, yet makes possible for me to think about. If we could turn ourselves inside out and really see who we are, we are like V'Ger, clouds of being around tiny organisms that we feel trapped in sometimes. And we use layers upon layers of thoughts and simulations and presentations and art and stories to fathom what being is. The bonds we form in life are so different from chemical bonds in our bodies, and feel so much more important.

And it's funny how we need to invent things like V'Ger and minecraft to keep perpetuating the depth of simulations running in our minds, and nearly every bit of it is how it relates to our own being. Once in awhile I step out past that part (did it way more as a kid), really let go of the human connection and let the simulations about how everything works just run on and on, watch the mysteries unfold, go so deep I forget I'm even human in a body on a world and eventually come back very surprised, going oh yeah. As far as I can tell, the only way I can know for sure this particular experience world is 'real' is because pain is nearly the only thing that keeps pulling me back to it before it pushes me back out again, and I always come back to this body, this life, no matter how many thousands of other places and life simulations I get lost in. This one is important. This is the one where the people I love can actually love me back. I'm not making it up in my head.

#transparency I've really lived like this my whole life. I've briefly touched this level in The Unstuck Pinky.

Bunny has a book called The Shape of Me and Other Stuff. I wish I'd had that growing up.

floating on track

5 ingredients-
  • whatever cauliflower that's left from salads that you can't force yourself to finish raw, boiled and drained
  • whatever is left from an open can of evaporated milk after you've used most of it in a recipe, warmed in empty cauliflower pan after cauliflower is cooked
  • about an inch slice off a regular size block of velveeta, warmed in the milk until it stirs in
  • onion powder to your liking, I accidentally dumped nearly a teaspoon but this is very edible, I like onion flavor
  • the rest of the cooked peppered bacon that is way too spicy to finish up and you're sick of it
Awesome soup. Wait, the flavor and texture is much better than that, lemme try again.

Behold, awesome soup.

Still euphorically floating around and kinda forgetting to eat (which makes good soup awesome), but actually got a nap after several days of around 5 hours of sleep a night, so yay. Figured maybe now is a good time to get hold of photobucket since I'm too weird to be bitey. How's this for succinct?

Subject: login issues- Upload forces relogin, can't upload for 5 days

Hello-

Concerning account "(me)"

Every time I click 'upload' I am force logged off. Clicking 'upload' takes me straight to 'login' and I login over and over trying to do an upload. This happens on every browser I try.

Everything else is working fine. I have been a pro user for years. I even beta tested a new feature one year.

I have not received any kind of acknowledgement that my last email (in this forward) was received or that this issue is being looked into.

I'm staying calm in epic facepalm. I use photobucket heavily for international forum and fan site readership, and photobucket is the mainstay of most of my blog building. Please fix this.

Thank you,
(me)

By the way, photobucket is having some really sweet holiday shopping deals, so you better jump on those. https://print.photobucket.com/

Maybe I should send an email to paper.li about their bot swarms...

Anyway, since I can't get this into photobucket at this specific size, I'm going to put it here and see if I can hotlink it to where I want it to go in a widget, ok? Ok.

I mean, I have that around in other places, but I wanted that particular snip. And now it's getting late, so I'll finish playing with it later, whenever that is. I have stuff in town the next 2 days, and I'm pretty sure I'll feel a little beat up from physical therapy, plus getting ready for Thanksgiving. I've noticed I'm already starting to emotionally disengage and @bonenado talking to me is like through a filter where I'm only half aware of even interacting, so aspienado is already having a tough time staying on the holiday slide.

I need emergency Christmas music, STAT.

turkey bird week, GO!

I've decided this boinging awake in the 2 a.m.s now instead of the 3 a.m.s must be me flying through some kind of super euphoria and I can't feel it that much because of the gabapentin. I'm still eating, thank goodness. The first super euphoria I went through without any meds lasted 12 days and I practically stopped eating and sleeping the ~entire time~. It. was. awesome. but the crashing back down kinda sucked, and my psychiatrist seemed relieved this fall when I said I'm on gabapentin now.

Watch me wind up sleeping through Macy's parade...

Stuff from yesterday-
  • Amy talked me into keeping Pinky Press Review, and that felt good
  • Pat and Myke got the movie gang rocking again on SyfyDesigns and that felt good
  • I polished off a big load of pan roasted parmed brussels sprouts with a splash of aged balsamic, and while that felt really good at first, later I  had a tummy ache, so maybe don't eat a quart of brussels sprouts in one go next time.

I JUST NOTICED BLOGGER HAS ADDED EMOJIS.

🌝😋⛄😍

HOW LONG HAS THAT BEEN THERE.
I can even search by drawing one to look for a match.

All righty, then, I am go for emojis. Wow. 🦃 Happy Turkey Bird!

Photobucket has not yet gotten back to me on not being able to upload anything for several days, but I'm too floaty to care right now. I've had a pro account forever, but they're ridiculously difficult to get hold of, so I dunno. If I had staff I'd just toss this problem at someone else, so I tossed it to Yablo, who was tunneling deep under an extreme biome yesterday and didn't care. I angled a beautiful 45 degree angle tunnel up through the highest point and emerged over a breathtaking view, which is pretty much Happy Land for me. I really dig dwarf mines on LOTR. Get it? Dig. Nvrmnd.

Random Batman pix. Someone has discovered the joys of button pushing, aka doorbell.

And popcorn!

And that Santa is an ok dude.

It's been a very long year, but also a very good year. Nonstop allergies, viruses, and the big dentist thing, but autie finally eating some finger foods, venturing into verbal, and even hamming for a camera is amazing. I am extremely proud of his mommy and daddy for being cool with making it ok to be himself, and thrilled that his doctor is into nutrition boosting early development. I didn't get any of that at his age (I was punished and fussed at a LOT on a daily basis for years), and I wasn't the greatest interactive mommy (although I did turn the corner on let's cut the crap with this punishment thing), but generational autism spectrum isn't the big bad doom and gloom it used to be, and I'm pretty sure Batman has got a lot of surprises for us in future.

My mother never knew I was one of the smartest people in my entire school. She didn't understand that stuff, and she couldn't get past me being a behavioral problem. She never knew her granddaughter was one of the kindest people I've ever met in my life because she was too busy trying to fix her with health food store stuff, like she tried to fix me. And my mother never lived long enough to see her great grandson, even though she could have if she had complied with doctors taking care of the diabetes ravaging her. I don't want to miss the opportunities to see how beautiful my children are.

My other kiddos were over yesterday, and I enjoyed them so much. Bunny and Spiderman are a blast together, and the hot chocolate after this was really fun. Bunny wound up with a tiny little Doctor Strange goatee around her mouth, should have gotten a picture.

between the stars

Have I mentioned my lip art obsession? Probably not. I really don't tell you guys all the stuff. I've had this on my phone awhile. I've been collecting lip art pix for years. Click it for a crazy good time.

Today was pretty fantastic, and I'm wiped out, so bullet points while I let a rare pain pill start percolating. I've been avoiding it until follow up because it skews blood pressure readings, and now that I've got 118/80 documented 3 days back on beta blocker, I'm free to skew.
  • I'm officially downgraded from diabetes to pre-diabetes because I have managed it so well for so long without meds that I'm being booted off the island. While that means some things no longer get paid for on insurance, it also means I have successfully demo'd that I no longer need those things anyway, woot!
  • I actually lost a pound. We laughed. I told the doctor I stuck to calorie plan and the cartia turned me into a water balloon, and he said yep, it does that. 7-10 days it'll be outa my system, so hopefully I'll drop a couple of pounds just because the water retention will self correct, because dang it, I really did stick to a calorie count.
  • Now that the lethargy is already resolving, I get to shoot back into physical therapy while I'm still tolerating neurontin well to see if I'll assess differently now and hopefully make some progress this time, so maybe summer's not completely wasted after all.
Ok, weird stuff happening at the Circle K. Was trying to get this pic out of my photobucket and it kept grabbing this ghost pic instead. No idea whose dog that is, that address isn't my account, but every time I right click or try to mouse and highlight, I get that dog. Hmm. Just made that album private and it's still doing it. I'm not able to get a thumbnail address in any shape or form without getting that dog instead. Isn't this fun. This is how I feel right now.

Ah, here we go. Got into the help/scheduled maintenance screen and found other people complaining that they can't get their codes, either. The last person sent them an email 10 hours ago, no answer, other people in queue, same thing. Editor settings are out, issues going back to end of July... Wonder if the new app rollout funked up their root system or something, and maybe they had to just pull interactive function offline to fix a nasty code break. So it's not me, it's not my Windows 10, it's not someone messing in my account, it's photobucket going down like a flaming Ican'teventhinkofawordhere.

And since that could conceivably mean thousands of links go down all over my blogs going back years on a pro account, I may as well walk away and not even think about this, right? I'm going to go have a snack and finish my movie and hopefully take a nap. I never got that nap yesterday and I was crashing into bed big time last night.

At least youtube still works.

the game is melty

It's late, my brain is blurry, but I wanted to get my photobucket upgraded before I forget later this week. I haven't looked at stats in forever. 9300 views on 740 captures, most of them in LexxPix, a handful more in pbLexxPix. In the old days when photobucket kept stats on everything, including private folders that hosted off-site content (listing the web addresses they linked to, even more impressive than what you get on youtube nowadays, which isn't too shabby {I remember when youtube did the same thing, though, actually, anyone used to be able to see everywhere vids were linked right there under the vid, now it's just a private thing if you know where to look}), my views were in the ten thousands. Can only wonder what it would be nowadays, probably over a million easily. If I'd never dumped my old blogs and some of the pic folders... except now the only visible public stats they show is actual photobucket views if people click over. I'm actually too wiped out to feel a twinge of regret right now. I really should be in bed.

I'm not sure but I think this is the result of being bitten by a werewolf. Fortunately, no one else saw me like this, probably because in multiplayer no one would have any idea who I was and I'd immediately be killed for it.

No worries, though, got my Galaxie Gurl back on when I logged out and back in. Don't laugh, I know the lumberjack song just hit your head. I had to put on what leather gear I had left after I lost my armor in another fight.

But it didn't take long until I got air bombed by one of those flaming pegasuses again and ran into the house on fire, and as I died engulfed in flames, all the cobblestone I was carrying melded into a column that glued itself next to the door, and even after I respawned I could no longer use my button-1 'attack' to do so much as chop wood or go mining, much less defend myself at all or even eat. The most I could do, besides opening and closing doors, was play at my crafting table. I tried everything, talked to the admin, sounds like I might hafta uninstall and then reinstall. I've really gotta get a fire proof potion going and get some diamond armor made as soon as possible if I can ever become functional again. There was a notable lag problem for several hours today, so I'm crossing my fingers just walking away for a bit is my cure, since time passing (about 45 minutes or so, I think) suddenly resolved my cobblestone problem. In the meantime, I have learned to make TNT and craft minecarts into mobile carriers and explosives. Oh, and shear sheep. I made the cutest little sheep shears, and now all the sheep roaming around are my friends and come trotting right up to me. Also found out you never step on a bee. Raced a bee swarm back to the house, getting stung over and over zapping my life out as badly as arrows from skeletons, and I even had armor on. Like, the killer bees from hell or something. They were so cute until I walked over one.

I've gotta go to bed, I can barely even type any more.

Kaianu, Jawn, and techmeth

So the Mantrid thing, which I knew would turn out kinda big/long, is morphing into a sort of 3 part thing. Jawn is allowing me to get 1220 x 930 size captures that are really load heavy because the quality is so nice, around 2 MB per pic. I'll have to size them down for the blog posts, of course. Photobucket is capping uploads off at 1024 x 780ish, BUT Jawn is able to push the 2 MB thing through to actually get to the capping off point. Old lappy could barely handle loading 1 MB. Anyway, was hoping to host full quality captures for fans to access for film study, because the costuming and sets and CGI are so unique, it really is worth taking a hard look at some of the stills I'm getting.

I have unlimited bandwidth on photobucket (I've paid for my own hosting for years), but they've changed up the storage. I've actually got more now than I originally had because I beta tested for them and got a free year, then got a free month for something else, and during that time they remodeled their payment/storage plan. The old days are laughable, everyone's getting HD quality phone pix now so storage naturally had to evolve big time. Anyway I'm now bottom tier of what originally was the top price plan, have a definite cap on my storage, although I still have plenty of space (for awhile). If I upgrade to handle loading 2 MB pix, especially by the hundred, I may need to step up to next tier and fork out the dough.

So let's test this. This capture is sized to 800 and loaded to blogger. It will click to full size at photobucket (currently in a private folder, but will later go into the public film study folder.) From photobucket, fans can hotlink, download, copy/paste, whatever. Their prerogative. For instance, say you want a Brunnen G tattoo on your face. Here you go, our first hint at Dark Kai, and after you click over you can practically get measurements and specific placement for a quality Brunnen G tattoo mark (assuming you're on a full sized screen and not mobile). I've actually never seen a fan really do this, although I'd do it in a heartbeat if I weren't allergic to everything. Also, you can see the CGI Insect essence starting to smoke up Kai's eyes, swirls in delicately, hinting at things to come, don't see the solid black fill-in until later in the show.

THIS is why the Mantrid post has been taking so long. Tech crash last fall, tech upgrade over holidays, tech learning curve during a stupid chest cold that started exploding into bronchitis, and finally crunching down on the GET TO WORK! FOCUS!!!

In the meantime, ran into a new movie trailer I wanna see now. Is this a John Wick parody thing? I love John Wick.  I mean like if it was scaled down to real life, at our level.

Ok, need some GO music and a little more coffee. I know it's seriously out of season, but dang, I am really in this mood. Hang on, experimenting with the iframe sizing... A lot of these youtubes are preset to tiny little playback sizes. I may start resizing them. Watching tiny stuff on a bigger screen kind of defeats the purpose of a bigger screen. No idea yet whether it'll mess up your own viewing experiences. I'll hafta see if it changes how it comes in on my phone. Ta-ta.

my Jason Sadler crush

Wed. 1:30 p.m.

I take my jolly tone back, the herx hit in the middle of running errands and I've barely been able to move my hands since the middle of Walmart. Driving 10 miles home and carrying the groceries in was a piece of pain cake. Oh, nothing, just a Clydesdale ran over my hands on a Leonhardt Gunbus 410.

You know what? I'll totally take hand pain. That so beats spine pain. At any rate, the best way to plow through hand herx (and I'm not even talking carpal tunnel, this is way beyond CT) is to grab some afternoon coffee, plow through the internet for distraction, and then crawl off to bed with the headphones on. Maybe I'll find something sorta soothing to float away on.

4:30 p.m.

+_+ Stumbling out of bed. Ah, yes, the fever. They kept asking me if I'd had a fever. Well, now I do.

                            photo t2741234.gif

Extra membranes on my eyeballs. They didn't tell me I'd be mutating into a lizard. I feel like I'm lurching about in a sort of stop and go way like a bearded dragon getting supper on. And I know exactly how those look, we had them in the house for several years. Here you go, a picture I don't think I've ever shared in public before. (I could be wrong, my stuff is so scattered now.) Twink and her lizards. At least 3 Christmases were filled with the festive sound of nonstop cricket chirping. It wasn't uncommon to demand my crusted scissors back after she borrowed them to cut baby mice in half for them.

Ran into this one, too, 2006ish, I think.

 photo fall017.jpg

My photobucket is at least 10 years old. When they used to do real analytics (they were awesome) I had thousands of views every month just from blogs. They stopped counting awhile back, except for public albums. Linking from private albums no longer counts. There was a time way back when I had over 10,000 pix until I got stupid and dumped a few albums.

7 p.m.

This is the going back to bed part. +_+ I have absolutely no ambition except to crank about no one making Jason Sadler tribute fanvids. Oh, and my hands are back online, yay.

So I ran into this. (Random Jason suggestion.) Imagine this convo from an aspienado viewpoint, the in-between that can all-encompass both sides of the fence... The key to what I'm saying is that autism is the born-with hard drive that mimics the extreme software glitches of developmental mental illnesses. I believe autism studies will help the entire psychological health field find ways to better communicate alt POVs.

But back to Jason Sadler. Ian Tracey has the double bad luck of both his name and character's name from Continuum being extremely hogged by other real life famous people with those names, and he totally gets drowned out in searches. If a rabid Jason fan would put together a composite of all the Jason scenes on youtube we'd probably see an interesting piece of origami, if I may twist up a time fold pun on a Kagame reference. Alec's step-brother Julian created Kagame, but Alec literally physically created Jason, his son, Kagame and Jason are like the yin-yang of causal loop secrets. I can't help feeling Jason has so much depth waiting to be explored. He knows way too much, and even though he's a mental mess, he's super brilliant and emotionally uber loyal- to what? Alex said in the next to the next to the last episode that it doesn't matter to him now if Jason is never born. Thanks to the convolution of time loops, alt loops, and even forced loop merges, Jason still exists in the timeline we're watching, but if you really look at the physics, this might not be Jason's first go round. In fact, there was speculation two seasons ago by a superfan/reviewer that I lost track of that Jason may have reset the loop himself several times because things kept going wrong. At any rate, there are five timelines that we know of since Kiera's perspective started (the superfan speculated 13 loops, I think). If Jason was sent back by Alec himself, was Alec ultimately sacrificing his own son to change the past and recreate a different future? (And why are we not exploring this???) It's really bugging me that Jason is blown off so much when he's been so vital to several developments.

I also really want to know more about that art print on the wall.

I guess that kept me from caving back to bed so early.

I agree with Charlie Jane Anders on io9  that

Yes, Kiera is the glitch, but what is Jason? The Freelancers keep missing the whole Jason going back thing. Well, except that we get a hint that they might've captured and kept him locked up for awhile. (See what I mean, even more untold story of why and how he got away.)

Several sites have set up timelines, here is one of them. In case you feel lost, here is a simplistic rundown of the storyline. If you really wanna dig into whether old Alec knew exactly what he was doing and what Jason was supposed to do, here's an awesomely cool convo, most of which I thnk is still viable, given all the stuff that has never really been explained, and I'd seriously like to know more of exactly what is in Jason's head through all that.

What is Jason's job, exactly? Were Jason's original instructions changed as future loops changed? Is Jason supposed to retain timeline integrity or help microfissure it in key places? He seems to be obsessive in all the wrong places, pivotal in all the right moments, and clearly missed by everyone as a crucial key. Is Jason afraid of changing something? Or is he targeting only specific things? Because for someone who seems so reluctant to share information, he certainly changes trajectories whenever he gets involved. What is Jason's role? I'm not the only one asking this. Another recapper also asked some big questions about Jason.

Part of the Continuum conundrum for the audience is that there are so many perspectives going on that they really do need another 5 years just to follow all the think bait they keep throwing out there, but they're about to abruptly end the whole story next week. I still say it needs to be told from Jason's point of view. From the same reviewer I just linked- "Somewhere else in the city Jason and Alec have a heart to heart on which implications I’m not too clear about. Yes, Alec basically admits that he is an insecure boy trying to win his (dead) dad’s approval but what all that means for the relationship between Alec and Jason is not really clear at this point." So tempting to throw my own psyche eval out there. Maybe one day I will, but I want to purchase the series first and hardcore marathon it making notes before I do, and IF I go to all that trouble, it'll get its own review write up.

I'm still not finding that original piece I scored on Jason last year or so from the superfan, and I apparently didn't make a note of it. If I bookmarked it, it's pretty buried. I need to stop obsessing and GET BACK TO WORK.
